Not the most grassroots exercise.... but I really would like to hear you all's opinions.

You have won a $250 million dollar lottery. But in the keeping of grassroots, you figure spending more then $100K on a car is just not sporting. So you have to buy one of these cars. This will be a fun car for autcross, lapping days and sunday drives. You will all keep your respected '90 Ford 150, 1983 Audi's or '77 Toyota Crowns as your daily drivers.

a) Corvette C6 ZR1 b) Dodge Viper c) Nissan GTR d) Porsche GT3 e) Superformance GT40

Ok, personally I am absolutley infatuated with the SPF gt40. Having been addicted to GT40's since I was a kid, seeing new ones in the USA is a dream come true.

How about you all?

GT3, if I have to stick to the multiple choice.

However, I'd rather pick up a gently used 911 Turbo.

Corvette.

In other news, I would be setting up a lot of sustainable funding style contingency programs for racing throughout Canada, as well as sustainable funding for racing organizations. I mean, whats the interest on $10 million? They can just skim the interest off of that forever.

I like the GT40. Even though I have always been a GM guy.

I see Corvettes everywhere, but I have only seen one GT40 on the road, and it was idling through a restaurant parking lot near Detroit and it still sounded GREAT!

Of course, I wouldn't mind owning the entire 1970 Datsun set of mint condition (but slightly modified) cars: 510, 240Z, 2000 Roadster, 4x4 pickup, 1200. Well, maybe not the 1200.

And a garage full of factory OEM parts for those Datsun cars. That should easily eat up $100,000.

I dont really care much for any of the choices, id probably buy several cheaper cars. lol A nicer milano than the one I have, a somewhat rally preped subaru, and an older alfa (probably a belina) would be at the top of the list.

I think I would do the GT40 because with the cost of a kit being "only" $25k or w/e, you'd have a lot of money left to personalize it and build it the way you want. Plus it's way more unique than any of the others.

Of those choices, I'd go for the GT3. In that lurid green colour.

hmm.... some different choices... and I know it is not a complete lits, but I chose those cars for a reason. I have to agree with many of you.... a few old Alfas... maybe a Cortina... a newer Subaru... I would want to collect, but I really wanted to hear some inputs on your opinions.

Thanks for playing.

Well developed Lotus 7 replica of some sort, and a pimped out tow van.

When reading the options, my brain kept swapping in "Factory Five Supercar" in place of "Superformance GT40", and I'm sticking with that option. <$70k for an LS7 midship? Yes, please!

Besides, if I wanted a Superformace car, I'd take the Daytona Coupe.

I know someone who had a Superformance. I won't say who, or when, because there is some sort of legal thingy in the situation, but he was far from pleased with the vehicle's engineering as regards to track usage.

I wouldn't touch a GTR except to move it out of the way if it was blocking my car in. Heavy, cramped, just a giant pile of suck. (I am not impressed by spec sheets)

I don't like Corvettes. I am not in my mid 50s, so they don't appeal to me. Same goes for Vipers.

Porsches are neat but hanging the engine way out behind the rear wheels is Not Right for a vehicle you're supposed to enjoy driving.

I'd probably just get a MkIII Golf, really.

None of the above:

I'd spend a bit more (OK,quite a bit more) and buy a Bugatti T35B and be the scourge of east coast vintage racing.

The GTM, right? Yes, that'd get my $100k! I'd be tempted to stuff a PPorted 20B into it instead of the LS, though... love me some revs!

I thought 20Bs were severely rev limited unless you bought an expensive four bearing eccentric shaft. Rev a LS engine higher.

The ZR1 doesn't fit in that budget. And I didn't think the GT3 fit in this budget. I would buy a Morgan Aero 8 but I don't think that fits either.

the ZR1 since its a choice.

but honestly i'd just buy an LS7 crate motor and a beefy transmission and put them in my 91 along with the C6 Z06 brakes, i like the my C4 better.

Honestly if I were forced to buy one all-around autoX/track/backroad burner, it'd be a Lotus Exige, but if we're talking kit cars I'd rather have a Cobra Daytona coupe than a GT40.
