Needs single round headlights.

Uggh, no. Single square looks the best.

Love the entire car

Love the Rabbit; the graphics, the 16V, the wheels all look great! We've 'met' virtually through my work. Awesome to see you on here; welcome to the forums! This place  is one of the best automotive enthusiast spaces online. I'll look forward to seeing updates on the project.

You know i've had 3 swallowtails, and two pre-78's and this aside from an 83 is the first square car and I have started to not hate this version. Like im not sure when it gets repainted i'll wap to rounds. Ive starterd to really like how they look with the chunky body.

Wheels are almost done. Altermann Club AM301's in 15x7.5 et25 (or 27 cant recall)

Brake conversion is next (await the elusive 16V scirocco brake proportioning valve.)

Sweet car!  This reminds me of a two-door yellow diesel Rabbit (early '80s?) I had at one point in the '90s.  I paid about $750 for it, then proceeded to drive it for several months, only catering to its thirst for oil.  It was the champion of going slow, floating gears, and saving money on fuel.  It eventually starved and got itself donated, but it was perversely fun to drive, for some odd reason.

The good ol' days = non-turbo diesel engines.  They required imagination . . .

Seats in this are coming after the ITB conversion and before myself and 2 friends drive to Roots Classic in NJ - 2 mk3's and 1 mk1.

We've both got goofy taste in bikes. Im not allowed to ride this until after my knee replacement in March.

That trip to Roots Classic sounds like a good time! You'll have to post a report once it happens.

Nice 70-degree Husaberg! Is it a 390? 570? 450? I've got an extended range Safari tank (front tank) I don't need. If you or anyone you know might be interested, let me know. Not to derail this thread too far, but I did a lot of little fixes and upgrades on mine last year, plus switched to Euro plastics. I need to finish up a few tiny details and ride it more.

Good luck with the knee surgery; hopefully it goes smoothly.
