Sure, a stock ’96 Civic DX Hatchback only makes around 100 horsepower but, in case the title didn’t give it away, this Civic is far from stock.
In place of the original engine is a Garrett-turbocharged B16 that’s also been upgraded with CP-Carrillo connecting rods and pistons, plus camshafts sourced from a Civic Type R. In total, the Civic now …

I miss our 2000 Civic Si. Wouldn’t mind having an EK hatch one day, of course.

Funny enough, Cars & Bids has an early 2000s Si available, too.
As much as I like those, I much prefer the CRX.

I've driven two of these with B18c swaps, and I was left unimpressed. I suspect a turbo might up the fun factor significantly
That just looks "right" to me (size/proportion). Nice build.
Love the performance of the new hyper-hatches, but some (most?) are not very small. At all.
i really thought this was going to be another type R integra type S article...
Have you seen my teenage dream integra thats on the site?
white exterior
cheap white faced gauges
excessive number of aftermarket autometer gauges
turbo and v-tec
22 year old me would have pitched a tent at the site of this car...

- reclining seats to ensure access to the backseat
- interior removed for weight savings
- full cage for track driving
- extra loud sound system made of heavy MDF
purpose built for sure

if i was a passenger i would totally be playing with the battery cutoff switch and asking "what does this do?"
Seeing this get's me excited for my winter project.
I can't wait to slap a turbo on my JDM Mirage Cyborg. Same idea. The Mitsubishi version of the EG Civic hatch. 1.6L Variable timing, higher compression, Clutch LSD, and 12 LB of boost from a GT2554R.
For an EK civic in 2023 the perfect panel gaps and clean carfax are way more impressive than 300hp.
The hatch was always my favorite too.
That would merge into traffic rather smartly.
the car ended up going unsold at $9600... I wonder what the reserve was, the integra went for a bit over $11k which felt like the right number...
