Slightly off topic. It is common with Grassroots that they post a teaser such as a picture of a interesting ride. You wish to know more, the details, how it was crafted and how it performs. You click on it and get 3 sentences about it leaving one disappointed. Guess I'm old school, still pinning for the way Road and Track covered a rides story back in the 70's.

The You Need This threads are just to cause trouble. Most of the time it will be something that you really do need but due to lack of space and money, or you aren't stupid enough, you don't search for it.
Violates my fundamental rule of tribute cars: The copy has to be comparable to or better than the original in performance. Thus, a Kelmark with an aircooled veedub in the back is just silly, whereas a Kelmark with enough going on that it would best the Ferrari that it was styled after gets a degree of acceptance.

You would have had a field day had you come to the Knott's Berry Farm kit car show back in the day. There was a "Lambo" with a V6 where V12 valve covers, intake manifolds, and spark plug wires had been added hide the poor engine. A vendor was selling "Disc Brake" appearance kits: discs of maybe 0.125" aluminum that you bolt on like a wheel spacer. I was left wondering who they were wanting to impress. It gives me the idea of buying a rubber muscle costume and flexing outside the local gym...
Here is a guy that really wanted a V8 MGB, but also wanted downdraft Webers on it. I expect that he used the MGC bonnet for a tad more room under there. Personally, I'd have gone with DCOEs that didn't have to stick through the hood, but.....
