Its hard to make that era of 'vette worse than stock but they really went over the top with that.
$75k for a car that Hagerty says is worth between $8k and $25k. This is an awful lot for provenance from a movie most people have never heard.
Couldn't even clock the horn button properly in the steering wheel...
It might be worth that with the steering wheel on the right like in the movie.
As a dumb, young kid I desperately wanted this car. But the sane older person that I've become wonders what the heck I was thinking back then.

why was the steering wheel on the right? Was it because it was a UK car or was it a weird mirrored camera effect?

If I recall correctly, this was the movie Hamill starred in right after the smash hit of Star Wars. That's all I have to offer.

Filmed before Star Wars released and came out the year after. Then he had the accident that changed his face. So it's like the only other movie you see baby faced Luke Skywalker.
As a B-movie, it's not terrible. The bad guy's Firebird Formula was pretty cool.

I remember two things about this movie.
Annie Potts smart mouth and also Luke Skywalker coming out of a 55 gal drum of used motor oil.

The wheel was moved to the right mostly so they could shoot Hamill having conversations out the window with people on the sidewalk. The actual execution was horrifying, with a chain drive for the steering and some mail-truck style controls for the pedals.

Hamill's accident occurred in January 11th, 1977 while Star Wars was still in production. A land speeder scene used a double in some shots because of this.
Corvette Summer's filming scheduled for June, 1977 was delayed because of the accident. Principal photography began on July 25th, 1977.

This movie is how I learned to mix screwdrivers and solidified by undying love of Annie Potts.
I never got around to seeing that movie, but it on Youtube so I'll check it out now. I could use a little dose of 1970s cheesiness.

So, I just watched it. It wasn't as bad as I expected, although it was more like a 1970s made for TV movie. I didn't know Danny Bonaduce was in it.
I think the bad guy's Firebird was the same car that Ponch in the TV show CHiPs drove, and one of the low riders had a Vega station wagon that I think appeared in the music video Low Rider by War. Annie Pott's van was pretty bitchin' too.

The Ponchmobile was damaged at least 3 times during the show, once in a rollover. Questionable it is the same car but I suppose it's possible. Both cars have been determined to be 1971 models.

I remember the movie, it hit the right age for this kid.
And trying to get my Star Wars friends interested has not panned out. Thankfully it's out of my budget. (And at 5 currently I'm full-up.)
Not sorry, that car makes me want to vomit.
