Wasn't this car on bring a trailer a few years ago? edit: yes it was
I think this might the the one time you could say "id rather have a Lamborghini Espada instead, its cheaper, better looking and easier to get parts for" and it would actually be true.
The original e-bay bid of $150K seems like a bargain. If I had the money I'd be interested in the car for that amount. But you have to love a CL ad with zero info or pics in it for $1.5m!
In the WHOLE WORLD?!?!?!? REALLY?
Including that little island that is actually just a reef that China wants?

More information on the car. Interesting story but would I pay 30X more for this car vs the e-type that is shares a chassis and drivetrain with? ummmmm No. I know at this dollar amount it's all about having what the guy in the mansion down the street doesn't have. But I'd rather have many other rare cars before this.

Oh yeah and I found the contact information and posted in openly in my Tumblr account for the spam bots to find.

Exactly. Complete idiocy without pics. OK, alright complete idiocy with pics too.

See now, I initially understood that to mean that you think a small island that China wants is a car...
I thought that when you start selling rare, collectable, and valuable old cars, you're supposed to be classy about the process and sell it at an auction or advertise it in classic car magazines.
(not the car, but a better pic of the type)
Not exactly what I would call the prettiest car ever. It looks a bit, how should I say this... French.
so if only one was ever made, was the green car restored and painted silver, or were there really two made?
In reply to patgizz:
And if there were two made, why in the world would they make the second one after seeing how the first one turned out?
Aircooled, I think there was only 1 made so that would have to be the car. The MT article lists it as that color now which is supposed to be the original one. They said at some point it was painted BRG and then painted it back to the metallic silverish color.
Obviously this is a case of a Craigslist crackhead, a very high end crackhead, but crackhead all the same.
Also, since when did not so successful concept cars start pulling top shelf prices? I can see an argument for concepts that led directly to successful production cars commanding the big bucks, but this is a forgotten wrong turn in Jag design history.
