Oh... then you made the right choice.

Guess its all in the eyes of the beholder too... How cheap can I get me a Ferrari?
944 Turbo. Oh, wait, already bought a "cheap" one of those, it's rough but quick, and if I keep dumping $$ into it won't be cheap anymore.
I'll have a blue Sprint Turbo or red Turbo Firefly again eventually, making minimum 200whp out of the 1.0L 3 cylinder. My goal (if/when I get there) is to do Targa with it in the open class. Next year? We'll see if my debts are paid off...
Like this, but moar cage/fender flarez.
I always liked the 1st gen Acura Integras, but haven't seen one in so long that I don't know if they're still cheap or not.

1st gens are cheap, and ugly. 2nd gen GSRs with the original B17 still in it are still fetching $4k for a nice example. Their prices are going UP.

Eh, I'm an 80s guy. I like them. Good to hear they're still cheap, wonder if there's one out there that doesn't have an interior like a box of rags..

You'll need that box of rags interior to stem the arterial bleeding caused by the cage of tetanus the box of rags interior is encased in.

There's an older guy in my tiny little town with an 87 Special Edition that I'm pretty sure he doesn't know is a Special Edition. It's straight but apparently burns a ton of oil. I approached him in the liquor store parking lot once, but I think I scared him. I'm terrified it's going to throw a rod and go to the junkyard.
There's also an older guy with the nicest, totally original 3rd gen. Civic I've ever seen in my life. After multiple failed attempts at chasing/flagging him down, I finally caught him in the Vatozone parking lot. I was driving my 3rd gen., so I figured he'd be all pleasant and everything. Not so. Still, I felt compelled to say "If you ever want to sell this thi..." "I'll never sell it." At which point, I was absolutely compelled to say "Well, would you take my number and give it to your kids so I can buy it for $500 when you die?"

I sold my wife's completely rust-free 87 a few years ago for $1400. Would've done $1k for a GRM'er .
2 decent looking ones in the ATizzLe:

They rust that bad?

I'm that guy when I'm driving the (Mk2) Golf. Most guys are surprised to see a guy my age getting out of the thing. "Nah, I bought it new, come get it at my estate sale."
IF I could find one, a Mustang II hatchback. Someone nearby has a Mustang II but it's a dorky looking, faded red 2 door....it even sounds like a Pinto when it goes by.
Barring that, I've had several chances at and have stupidly passed up on....even tho I REALLY want one, an '80-'82 Mustang notchback coupe with the "cabriolet" roof treatment. For those who don't know, it's a fake vinyl roof that mimics a convertible top. Ford offered it right up until they "dropped the hammer" on building real 'verts. I'll even take one with a 4 cylinder, if I have too, but I'm kicking myself every now and then for passing a bargain priced, lady driven V8 powered triple white example. I am so stupid/stubborn.

Classic Motorsports reported that some of the 308s go for $25K-35K in good shape.
308's have been that price for nearly a decade now too, so it's an okay assumption that they've just about found the bottom of their depreciation curve too.
I bought my irrational cheap car: A NYG '95 Neon Sport, DOHC, 5 speed.
I'll probably have it together and running by September. Maybe.
Always wanted an original VW GTi, a 4-speed BMW 2002 (although those are getting expensive), and I want my 1st gen SL2 back
I missed a sweet Ferrari once. It was a 67, body/frame only, no engine, tranny, or drivetrain. No wheels, suspension, or anything. It went for $6000 on ebay. In hindsight I should have grabbed it, done the body work, then dropped in a small block and a 9" rear just to get it mobile.
Don't care it its worth crap, but how hot would I be driving around in a 67 Ferrari? I would have to install one of those "take a number" wheels for the ladies.
now serving number 843...
