'99 Jeep Wrangler Sahara. It's tan with green seats (yep, those are the Sahara seats - and they're comfy ) I got it used with few miles when I turned 16. I still have it and drive it daily. It's a work-in-progress. It's going up on stands for a while soon for a suspension swap and new axles. Just gathering all the bits and pieces together. Other car is a '91 BMW 325i. Currently stripping it out, swapping in performance bits and fixing whatever's left. In transition to be a Spec E30 car and progress is running along nicely. I figure the next step is an older, cheap full size truck to take over daily driving duties from the Jeep and pull the E30 around when it's no longer street legal
'91 Honda Accord- 5spd
Yeah, it was a hand-me-down, but a damn good first car.

'89 Ford Escort GT (given to me by my dad, which I promptly wrecked after a few months)
Consider it a mercy killing. My first was an '87 GT(in '99). Horrible, horrible car, but it lasted a year and a half and 12 autoxs at the hands of a teenager.:)
Currently driving a '03 Civic and not particularly enjoying it... someone in it's past was meeeeeeean to it.
1992 Pontiac Grand Prix named Fifi...I wish I knew about rallycross when I had that car, she would have been PERFECT in stock fwd.
My first car was a 1965 Ford Falcon Futura 200 6 cyl and 3 on the tree, 9" drum brakes all around and an AM radio. It was not only my first car but was my introduction to the 'rolling restoration'. It also has the dubious distinction of being the least reliable car I have ever owned.
In its defense it was without a doubt one of the best looking cars I have owned. This one has the colors reversed: mine was dark green, almost black, with a white stripe. The roofline at the rear was like this one as well, most Falcons had a more vertical C pillar which gave them a 'boxy' appearance.
I saw one for sale in Georgia a while back, almost stopped to ask about it and suddenly my alligator brain started screaming as it remembered pain. It prefers British cars, obviously.
My first car was this 1950 Austin A-40.
Bought in 1967 for $20 and never street registered, but saw lots of "woods miles" in the South Jersey Pine Barrens.
It eventually spit a rod out....that was after I ran it out of oil a few times and figured some old oil-based paint was "close enough".
My first street-legal car was a '56 MGA (bought running, for $199). Soon after I bought a '58 TR-3 (($169) and had ~BOTH~ of them while I was a college freshman. They were both horrid, but I wish I had them back now!
I just bought an ~Austin A35~ (to be built for vintage racing) and I have an MGB and the race Spridget (plus a street Miata). Herself says I'm still childish........correct!
My first car was a four door 1982 Chevette.
Now I drive whatever I can find that's <$500 and will last a few months. At the moment, that is a 95 Probe GT.
1968 Corvette 327/350 4 spd convertible with both tops. My Dad put me in a 1974 Dodge Colt 1.6 Liter 4spd when I spent too much time being chauffered by the local constabulary. Both were interesting cars - the Colt had fully reclining bucket seats - a plus for teen dating.

went halves on a free 70 vw bug 3sp "semi auto" , stick , no clutch with a friend, we got it for free, only cost us repair parts as it wasn't running and painted in green latex house paint. got it running, sanded off the green house paint and gave it now what we call the suede look, gray primer and orange pinstripe. it eventually burned up, as that era vw's usually did..went through a 70 Torino after, that was a heap, then onto a car i actually wanted, my 72 Ford Maverick, paid $250 (1985 dollars).
That one came factory with the hp302, i put roller rockers and a cam in it, headers, traction bars and shackles, lightened it up, etc. etc.. it would run a 13 sec 1/4 mile on four different tires, I boiled several tires right off the rims (posi rear) and learned to put ballast in the trunk to get grip...also put on thin 70 bumpers and cragers/keystones, made quite a bit of money with it drag racing. I also set a personal best time of 12 hours 50 minutes, ny to fl in it (yes, there was some law bending involve, but i think the stature of limitations has run out now, it was dumb, but i had a blast and survived.)
kept that one till 1990 or so, when I sold it reluctantly for a car with ac after moving to fl the first time. rumor has it its still being drag raced in sw florida, but i don't know for sure.
scanner picked up weird tones, exterior was pea green and interior was brownish... and yes, that is a hurst shifter, and the gear pattern was reversed
learned to drive in the '82 diesel 4x4 suburban... very shortly after 'rents got a '87 grand am and my sister who didn't have a licence still got a '85 crown vic LTD...
the 1st car of my own was a 240k mile '85 5 door tercel with a massive 62hp and a 5spd... I bought it from my 'rents for $400 who'd paid $600 for it a few months before (with still working a/c)... i LOVED that thing... I didn't know much about cars when i had it and ended up blowing the HG when a hose burst... if i could find a clean one when i had $$$ i'd snap it up.
currently i'm driving a depressing set of cars.... '96 awd chevy astro and a '91 escort (hey it does get 35mpg on the interstate)... it's mostly depressing because just a year ago i had a pretty neat collection... '85 shelby charger, '87 yugo GV, '89 volvo 745TI, neon ACR, and a POS lumina.... one day i'll stop moving from here to there... and i'll find a decent job...
!959 Renault 4CV, 26 throbbing SAE horsepower from 750ccs , 3 speed tranny. With the seat all the way back my knees were solid up against the dashboard. Got 35 mpg in the days of 35 cent gas & would do 65 if the downhill slope was long enough.
Now a 73 MGB/GT does autox & toy duty, 99 Suburban tows & tanks, & a 98 Accord does daily driver duties.
The B/GT is black tulip (purple) & is faster than it should be (though by no means fast). It's why I'm called Purplepeopleeater from the old Sheb Wooley song.

My first car was a sky blue 65 Barracuda, 273 of course.
Then I graduated to a 68 340 'Cuda.
Moved onto an AAR Cuda - 340 6 pack.
Moved on way too many times to list.
Currently an '02 S2000, 78 280Z, working on a middie Locost, Lexus is250, several trucks, '08 350Z (not worthy of the name), Mazda 3, Mazda 6, and on and on. I have way too many cars.
71 suburban was the first car that was registered in my name, I couldnt get it to stay running well enough to drive for some reason, not sure why. First car I actually drove was an 85 shelby charger. Now i have an 87 alfa milano.
Have a 83 1/2 Silver Shelby Charger
First car I owned , 1978 ford fiesta ghia. Didnt realize how neat that car was when I bought it off my folks. First car I drove was my fathers 1966 Austin Healey 3000. Current cars 1998 GMC pickup, 1984 Porsche 944, and a 1966 Austin Healey 3000. (yes, the same one)
I was gifted an 87 Toyota Camry when I turned 16. Then gifted an 02 Camry when I graduated highschool. Then learned to drive stick thanks to a buddy with a Saab 9000 turbo, and all of a sudden I no longer cared about comfort and quiet, and just wanted to enjoy the driving, so I bought a 91 SE-R. It was rust free, and I refused to drive it in the salty winters, and got bored with going back to the Camry and its auto, so I bought a DSM to be a DD. Haha, that was stupid of me. So I now have two project cars, and a boring DD.

69 MG Midget:

My dad bought it for me when I was 12 for $300. A real POS. Now its a real fast POS 20 years later.
<img src="From Brust's Car II" />
First owned:1962 Nova project car-sold 10 years later as a basket case.
First driven on a regular basis:1976 Chavette-sold after 3 years. Great fun since you had to drive at 10/10ths to get anywhere. I still want another one.
Now:2006 Miata,1991 Volvo 945t, 1970 Volvo 142
A hand-me-down '98 Daewoo Cielo 4dr sedan, AKA the Crapmobile. Broke down or gave trouble that required a stop on nearly every trip. Sold it and put the money towards the AE92, which is a blast to drive and a good find, but too fragile with parts too rare to be driven every day on the island roads. The perfect car for this place would be a tiny, simple vehicle with a small engine, but an offroad-capable suspension and chassis and big meaty wheels. The Samurai was all that in theory but had a few issues in practice, most of which I was eventually able to work around, but overall it was a good decision.

I don't really have any fond memories of my first car. It was a turd sandwich, which I never got roadworthy, and ended up being a bit of a sore point between me and my Dad. It needed far more skill than I had at the time and really wasn't worth the effort.
Here's the beast:
1988 VW Fox. Bought for $350, sold for $140. Never drove it more than around the block.

A highs chool buddy had a Rambler American? it was a 4 door brown sedan with a white top. It had an abnormally tall backrest for the front bench seat because it was a 'salesmans' car', built for the road warriors of the time. It was extra tall so you could slide the front seat all the way up to the dash, flip the seat back down and the inside of the car became a bed. It was the perfect 'stealth car' since Dad would look outside and see this nondescript Rambler and say to himself 'no way can my daughter get in trouble in this car'. It was in high demand as a drive in date car. :D

First car was a 62 Corvair wagon, strictly a yard car. My first was a 66 VW with 40 mighty hp. High school and college was an assortment of mid 70's Subarus. We had just gotten the franchise then, and as fast as I could PDI them they sold. And rusted. And blew head gaskets.
I learned to drive in a 57 VW double cab truck with a 1600 dual port installed and a 67 chevy 3/4 ton with a 6 cylinder and 3-on-the-tree. But the first car that I bought was a rust bucket 64 MG Midget with the 1098 which was originally bought for a parts cars for my brother's 63 AH Sprite. Before heading to college, my mom said she wanted me driving something that at least had lockable doors...so I bought a 67 mustang coupe (200 + 3speed- which I promptly destrord in about 6 months). Installed a 351W AND 4-SPEED and still have to this day...
