Your first car's advertisement?

Four door sedan in a lovely beige.... best part was the cable actuated locks for the rear doors.

It would appear that Mother Mopar didn't bother making ads for the 1964 Plymouth Savoy. So I'll go with my third car;

Mine was a glorious baby metallic blue. also, it was manual!

A big advertising budget disaster for Ford. All the launch ads for the Aerostar in 1985-86 prominently featured the Space Shuttle in the backdrop. They had to shelve all the TV spots and cancel the ad campaign following the Challenger explosion.

Haha didn't even know that; it was born before me I do see the similarity in that pic, never made the connection before.

It was honestly a pretty decent car; as boring as it was it got me interested in cars after I had to replace the clutch in it in order to drive it.

Uh, my relationship with cars was kind of funky..I had one of those "BUY MURICUN, UR GIT-OUTTA-MAH-HOUSE!!!" families. First car was given to me by an aunt.

I wasn't some spoilt rich kid though - I swear. I saved up for years to buy it and it drove into the driveway for the first time billowing clouds of oil smoke from a blown rear main seal.

Couldn't find a '74, and didn't want a repeat, so a different Capri ad.

Adjusted for inflation that's about $14,000. Sure wish we could get cars like that.

Hand-me-down from my parents after they upgraded. I had it for a year or so before trading it in on a 95 Probe GT. A couple years later I got a letter from the US Dept of Customs, informing me that the vehicle in question had been seized at the border for violation of USC (drug smuggling) and was to be sold at auction on such-and-such a date, and as the last registered owner in the US they were letting me know so that if I had an interest in the vehicle I could do something about it.

I hastened to send them back a letter telling them when I sold it, and including a copy of my release of liability. :)

I find this especially ironic, considering my car got nicknamed "The Gutless Blunder".

Do I win for crappiest worst first car? Anyone else have a car that regularly makes lists of worst cars ever made?
