I'll try and get to pics. Under 6k miles. Second set of panniers, mounts, fairing, tail and a few other bits. Tank needs paint. Partially apart due to my stupidity in wanting to do a complete clean while I had too much going on. I'd plan on oil and plugs, probably tires too, due to age. $7500. I'm now in Thurmont MD

I have some interest in this. Questions:
1. How apart is apart? Can it be rolled safely? Brakes working so it could roll downhill to a winter resting spot safely? In condition to be loaded on a motorcycle trailer?
2. Photos as it sits now and of spares. How "ugly" is the tank paint? Patina or rat rod level?
3. When did it last run? Was the fuel drained from tank or carbs?
4. I tried to find current actual values and completed sales seem to range from $5k to 25K with no obvious rhyme or reason but depending on answers to the above seems in the ballpark.
1- just the seat, plastics, fairing, side cases, and so on. Tank has a couple of areas where the clear popped off.
2. I believe so. I think I removed (not on fork) front caliper. But I rolled it into the moving pod and used brakes to stop it.
3. Unfortunately, no, but I did put in sta-bil. Last ran, probably over 2 years ago now.
4. Based upon what has sold on BaT and CBX places, this has to be about the cheapest complete CBX in the country.
Man, I wish you were closer.

Here's Cycle World's original review of the 81 CBX
Honda Cbx | Cycle World | JULY 1981
I've concluded that although definitely a cool bike the CBX isn't really my kind of bike. For me it would be an interesting project to get assembled and running again, and then sell it down the road after riding a few times just to have done it.

it's a sport tourer. With a slightly better chassis and a little less weight, say 75#s, I'd probably keep it as the sound is addictive and, well, it's a Honda motorcycle, so, reliable. Listen to CBX videos. It really does sound like a vintage F1 car! And they will always be collectible. Jut need to pare the herd down from 20 to 10.
