Frogg Toggs. Probably the least expensive but most effective gear for rain. I've worn a cheap Gorton Fisherman outfit under my normal jacket/pants as a barrier while riding in heavy rain and it mostly works. The worst part is trying to keep your hands dry. When coming to a stop, water will rush down your sleeves and into your gloves. Someone suggested dishwashing gloves as a solution but I couldn't find any large enough to fit them over the gloves I have so I used them as liners. Gloves got soaked and took forever to dry and it did nothing to keep my hands warm.

I ride in the rain a lot. After a damn monsoon on my way home killed my cellphone I finally broke down and bought a rainsuit. I keep it at work...sure does beat getting soaked.

I wanted to ride in today, but tornado warnings are where I draw the line. I'd prefer to face one in a truck weighing a couple of tons, as opposed to a bike that weighs roughly a quarter ton.

had tornado warnings here too and been raining buckets but was too stubborn to quit working on my old PU under the cover of the carport... a 'lil wet but the brews are cold
