I thought it was already in production...I know they announced it about a year ago, but maybe they haven't actually sold any of them yet. Looks like a pretty nice bike.
193 HP.
Traction control.
Bavarian.
Yeah, I just found my next literbike. As soon as they hit the pre-owned market, I will have one.

agreed, looks like it is wearing a monocle on the right side
I KNOW I've seen an episode of Space Ghost or The Brak Show when Zorak was wearing a tuxedo and monocle, but I couldn't seem to find it anywhere on the interwebz. Separated at birth, which makes it that much more bad ass.
I like anything where the front doesn't look like a samurai's helmet from ancient japan. Or a transformer. But I repeat myself...
youre not the only one, that level of power with that little protection scares the bejeebers out of me.

Not at all. I think they're cool to look at, but I'm sure I'd die on one.
I KNOW i'd die on one....
I drove my buddy's Kawasaki 736 or whatever, set up for stunting, so it's geared like crazy, and i about shat myself when it spun through 1st gear at quarter throttle. Yes. It spun. Didn't lift the front tire. That didn't happen til 3rd gear.
I'm with you guys. I drove a liter bike for years and I can count on both hands the times it saw full throttle for longer than 10 seconds.
Why would anyone need more than a 600 since they now put out over 100 hp?

Reread the article, that bike is aimed squarley at and priced with the Japanese superbikes. 15K

The thought of it makes my netheregions tingle
I didn't realize the 1098s were that affordable. My buddy has a Tri-Color and it was a good bit over $15K
The new R1s at MSRP at just under 13K (try and get one for that right now), GSXRs are the same. CBR1KRRs and Ninja ZX10s are 12.
So while you are right, I still think BMW has done a great job of competitely pricing the bike, and considering you get a lot of goodies that a Duc can't have, a pretty cool job of it as well.
The biggest reason for these bikes to exist is World Superbike. I am under the impression that is the whole reason BMW built that bike.
