Could you build a little wooden ramp to move it forward and avoid this?
As if there weren't plenty of other issues, my brain recovered from the initial shock and went straight to "I bet they just removed the right side latch, the yahoos."
You can do just about anything with a sawzall.

These guys have other uses for their wooden ramps. Most of them are well worn or broken.
