http://www.motorcycleclassics.com/ is a US magazine that's pretty good. http://www.classicmechanics.com/ is published in the UK.

Motorcycle Classics.

The Horse, if you're into choppers.

Not GRM-ish, but I pick up Road Runner a few times a year. It's a touring magazine, usually on the road in the US, with the occasional dual-sport tour or international trip.

Looks like two votes for Motorcycle Classics.

I nosed around the web site last night. Looks pretty good. I'll have to pick one up at the book store.

Roadracing World. It features racing news, tests of the latest potential racebikes,. lots of club racing coverage and how-to's and the advertising base it similar to what you see in GRM. It used to be quite a bit better than it is now.

Motorcycle Classics is a good read. Usually a good mix of 60s, 70s, and 80s bikes. Some vintage race/event coverage (no AMA or SuperBike stuff). Gear reviews tend towards retro-style stuff.

If you want really grassroots pickup Iron Horse. I saw a chopper made from an '84 Honda Magna. The build was very low buck. Pretty fun. It's marginally less raunchy than it used to be.

If you're more into sporty stuff you might want to check out some euro mags like Streetfighter.

Streetfighter is still around? Can you get this on a US newsstand?

Appleseed. I may be wrong. I saw it awhile back but can't pinpoint a date. I was reading it at the local Barnes and Noble. I know Performance Bike is still around along with Bike. Bike is way better now. Years ago it was the reverse.

The only problem with the euro-magazines is the subject matter is frequently unobtanium in the US.

A lot of it is. Also, you have to translate model names. The Honda CBR900RR was a Fireblade in Europe.

Fireblade = teh ghey.

"Behold! My fireblade you scoundrel! On your knees!"

Performance Bikes, hands down. UK mag but most Border's carry it, and a subscription actually does get you the monthly magazine on time here in the US.

Anybody on here read Cycle Source? Just picked up a copy (mainly because they're starting an XS650 project).

Was just wondering if anyone thought it was worth subscribing to.

Streetfighters is still available. Only problem is that its $13 an issue now. Also, its FAR from GRM-style tech oriented. Most featured bikes are built by specialist shops. Seems like that's the way they do it in Britain? Its great for style/inspiration.

The best part about Streetfighters is the writing style. Its like Monty Python started a bike mag. Often hilarious in that quirky british way....
