Had a Shadow 750, not a bad bike at all, better than the 535 Virago I came off of, ACE syyling looks nice. Typical chain maint hassles.

Look at 90's Honda Magnas....v4 750cc with all the right cruser looks but the balls to go like a bat out of hell. Carb syncing/rebuilding on them suck, but the bikes are an absolute dream as a cross between a sportbike and cruiser.

I forgot about the Magnas. I had a V-45 once, agree with Eebasist, balls!

Check out the 90's era Magnas.

V4 motor from the VFR that's been tuned for torque. It will have enough balls to move you but will need to be revv'ed like a sportbike. Check out the look:

They're getting cheap too. Maintenance will be higher as they are not easy to work on.

I'm curious...what's wrong with the sporty? That bike is very simple. You could maintain it easily. There is no other wherein it's easier to avoid seeing the dealer ever again. Also, any problems you have with the sporty can be remedied by the aftermarket.

Power? Install Buell parts. 100 hp. Looks? More beauty mods for that bike than for CA blondes. Seating position? Forward controls, rear sets, etc are all a catalog away. HD persona? Don't ride with anyone who's an shiny happy person.
