I specifically went to a motorcycle shop to get brake reservoir hose because I know it needs to be a specific type. Came out this morning to find this. There was some condensation on the cars but this was all I saw on the bike. Did they sell me the wrong hose?

Brake fluid and water mix, however DOT3 and DOT5 do not mix.
Take some of whatever your brake fluid is (if you use DOT5, take DOT3, and vice versa) and try to mix them. If they mix its water, if they don't mix brake fluid.
Just enough fluid as you can get by dipping your finger in a container, or running your finger along the hose will be sufficient.
I like to use a plastic lid from the recycle bin as my mixing platform. A sour cream container lid, or a margarine container lid or whatnot
Interesting
I put in dot 5.1, changed a soft line and bled the brake the same day I installed the hose.
edit: not sure if it's clear but the fluid in question is on the outside of the hose.
