I've just gone and bought this. 1997 Klein Adroit.

I work in a bike shop, and get hefty discounts on new bikes, but I've wanted an old Klein for ages, just because they look so incredibly cool. These are rather rare here in Australia, so I jumped on this one as soon as I saw the ad. It'll be put to use on some fairly serious trails, too. Expecting it to be a pretty harsh ride
.
Any Klein experiences to share?

keep it in nice shape, since from what I gather, Trek killed the Klien line a few years ago.
Which is a shame, since they made some nice bikes.
Step 1. Add a longer shock
Step 2. Include a shorter stem
Step 3. Toss in a decent suspension seatpost (concidering that ones already half way to the moon
)
Step 4. Go kill some singletrack
I raced that bike in '97.
I was actually racing mountain bikes in Australia in 1989, and I remember the Kleins being the one I lusted after. Such thin tubing!
Nice score. I wouldn't screw around with it too much, just ride it.
Jerry Seinfeld had a Klein hanging in his apartment.
I've owned a half dozen at least. Fantastic bikes. The one you have, Luke, is a real Chehalis, Washington bike. Keep it forever.
I just sold off my last one earlier this summer, a 2004 Q Pro Carbon road with full Campy Record Carbon. If you ever do decided to sell (don't!), they hold their value really, really well. I sold this 5 year old bike with tens of thousands of miles on it and the cash I got would put it well over the $2009 Challenge limit. And the buyer got a great deal.

It's set up for the previous owner in that pic. I'll have the seatpost down a couple of inches. Probably will need a shorter stem, though.
Picking it up tomorrow

awesome... LBS buddy has one with same paint job... bit newer (post 2k) that he's building up as an uber light weight 650b SS :)
I had their Porsche hanging in my bedroom. (I had--and still have--a Cannondale.)
