Just got My Katana 600 street fighter fired up, and on its maiden voyage, promptly wrecked it! The worst part is I knew better. Allow me to explain. I pieced this bike together from various junkyard gems. The front brake lever is of an unknown origin. My front brakes were dragging, and as the fluid heated up, got tighter and tighter. I confused the bike not wanting to pull for my new jetting being off. I was trying to get on a side street to pull over, going maybe 15 or 20, and as I turned, the front wheel locked, and I hit the ground. The bike slid into the next lane on its BRAND NEW exhaust, et al. Broke off my lever, and hurt my pride, along with my right hip. All in all, very fortunate. Bottom line-DON'T BE LIKE ME. KEEP MASTER CYLINDERS AND LEVERS MATCHED! The kicker? this was less than $20 at the local bike shop.
