I commute on mine every day, I no longer ride for the enjoyment, its just transportation to me. 75 miles each way splitting lanes on the way home. At least its daylight on the trip in the evening and I ride east so the sun is not in my eyes.

My commute is so soul-sucking that I can't even get excited about riding. I didn't put many miles on last year, and with the arrival of offspring #1, I don't see that changing much this year.

I have been ordering parts so when the temps creep up (and I get the wood flooring installed) I will be able to start working on the bikes.
I just picked up my monster and my wife's 1098 from DucRx for new belts and valve adjustment.
I bought a new LED headlight for my Moto Guzzi café racer and just ordered everything that I need to convert my wifes 1980 XS400 from a 16" rear mag wheel with drum brake to a 18" mad with disk. I also bought some tubing to bend into a rear frame hoop. I just need to get some 3/4" round bar to use a frame slugs and make up a jig to bend the tubing.
The only places local to me that sell the round bar want you to take a 20' stick or will charge more to cut you off a foot than a 20' piece would cost.
The weather is still dumpy here in Boston and we haven't had enough rain to get the salt off the roads. SAD

I buy the stick but if I don't need all of it I bring the battery powered sawzall to halve or quarter it. They charge me $12 for the cut otherwise.
I have also hung roll cage tubing under the truck at full length from the bumpers when the trailer was unavailable. It looks ridiculous but it works.

I have bought long 3/4 inch bolts and cut the head/threads off in a pinch.

Holy crap, that's highway robbery!
Our local steel shop only charges for cuts if you want multiple pieces of various lengths. At $1 per cut. They've never charged me to cut a 20' stick in half for transport.
On topic... raining today. No riding.
Hoping to get more riding in this year. Still need to fix the replace the head bearings on the V65, and do belts and valve lash on Il Monstro, but house projects and work keep pushing back. :/

It's what I'd call "suggestive" that they don't want to bother with custom stuff. This place is the massive kind you drive your flat bed tractor trailer thru and they lower your material onto it.
I show up looking for one sheet of aluminum or 5 sticks of DOM or some other pesky stuff ... they do not want to mess around with it. But, their prices are really good and there is nothing better than extra metal laying around the garage so I don't mind bringing my own saw.
