Ok, the wife got a call from a co-worker that they needed a ride in this morning since their car wasn't working right.

So earlier, I get a message that her car an '04 Tiburon looks to have terminal engine issues. She just says, thought you may want to know.

So, its a V6 model, and apparently has no compression in any cylinder. Sounds like they twisted the timing belt was replaced, but looked good and slapped some valves with pistons.

Any words of advise? Should I look into being neighborly and offering something for the joy of a engine swap and sell? Part it? Just leave it be?

I would leave it be. The potential for hard feelings to develop between your wife and her coworker outweigh any monetary gain that could be had from a flip. The road to hell is paved with good intentions and all that.
