That's been on here before. I wonder if that was a case of spite, or stupidity. I want to say it was probably just stupidity.
Holy hell. That's fricking insane. That thing was sounding bad there towards the end...sounded like the car was going to turn itself off...
I really would like to hear more about that 101 ways to beat a speeding ticket.
I recently got one for 79 in a 65 which is bogus.
We had a 6 car caravan headed to an autocross. I was the leader and I had my cruise set on 72 which I figured gave me an honest 70 mph. The officer told me I was getting a ticket for 72 in a 65 and I thought that my speedo must be more accurate than I thought so I didn't even argue, but when I finally looked at the ticket several days later he had put down 79 as my speed. We'd have all argued big time had he not said 72.
I just talked to the Judge's baliff/assistant/fine taker or whatever you call her and she says all I have to do is have all 6 people stand ready to appear in court at a moment's notice anytime in the next 6 weeks OR I can pay a "penalty fine" which will keep it off my record.
Since when do they give tickets for 72 in a 65. Must have been the end of the month. gotta fill that quota.

They're not quotas, you know that's illegal, duh!
It's a recommended number of minimum contacts per month. (at least, that's what they called it in Macon lol)
Just got back and yes, they give tickets for 72 in a 65 - that's 10% over you know.
Now that Texas has a points system they give tickets for 66 in a 65, if they want to according to their fee schedule. There is no fine, but it goes on your driving record - but for $180 they can give you deferred adjudication and not have it impact your insurance. They are soooo nice!
I'm saying the 79 was bogus. That takes me into another category entirely in the financial grid they have.
And I'm sure you go exactly the speed limit with no variance at all for hills, traffic or anything?

It's just a game, at least Texas is up front about it. I have to get a lawyer, have him do all the legwork to get it reduced and I pay the fine anyway, and THEN pay the lawyer. New York likes bigger games.
I don't like speed limits period. Montana is a good example of the fallacy of minimum speed limits, (I think it was Montana). Prior to the Federal Government sticking their nose into things, the stretch of highway, (which almost eveyone seems to know about), that runs through the state that had no real limit, (it was set pretty high, something like 120mph), the state enjoyed low fatalities on that highway. However, once the state was force to set a minimum limit on the highway, the number of fatalities quadrupled. Evidently, people get into acccidents when they look away from the road and down at their speedometers, gee, really?!
Efforcement of speed limits outside of towns/cities and residential areas is just a revenue builder for the states, nothing more. A lot of countries allow the traffic itself to set the limit on major freeways and highways, such as the Autobahn for example. The Autobahn enjoys low fatalities dispite the considerably higher speeds that the motorists are traveling at compared to freeways here in the states.

Bit of a fallacy there. The Autobahn enjoys low fatalities because the German TUV (Vehicle roadworthiness inspection) is very strict, because it takes a year of driver training to get a license there, the roads are maintained impeccably and because both legally and philosophically Germans view driving as a privilege
Speeding laws are bull to begin with. i got a ticket for 32 in a 25. I realize that it is 25 for a reason, but it was down hill, and very few people are stupid enough to be reckless and endangering others at 32. I was coasting for godsake. don't cops have anything better to be doing, like protecting and serving?
