Where You're going, you won't NEED roads.

So I can't find any way to post pictures to this message board from an iPhone. Flickr only gives you the URL for a complete page, not just the image. You have to use the website for that. Photobucket no longer works on the iPhone, and I don't feel like trying to set up some new account while driving. Thanks to Ross D for helping out with the pictures to date, maybe you can fix a few more for me.
I'm up with the sun today and on my way. Already passed into North Carolina and got through the craziness of morning Charlotte traffic.
EDIT: I went back and fixed the links
Status update, I made it to Virginia. No cell service at the border so I'm a little behind on that update.
Anyway I've been tracking my fuel usage, and I'm pleased to report I'm averaging 20.2 Miles per gallon. I was off on my initial estimate because the fuel gauge is apparently quite accurate. In all my other cars, there's a big space above the F and it takes a while for the needle to actually move after you fill it up in this thing full is really full, I want to start driving the needle starts dropping. My first quarter tank went pretty fast based on my experience with other cars, so I thought I wasn't getting the mileage that I am getting. I think over 20 miles per gallon is pretty good for a 21-year-old car with the big 4 liter motor.
That's about the best mileage you can hope for from a XJ.
Also if/when you change the spark plugs, the No 1 cylinder (or whatever is closest to the radiator) had some tubing/piping keeping from getting a straight shot at the plug. When I went to replace the ones in my '98 the head was already stripped/cross-threaded some there. Just something to watch out for.

Yeah, Flickr doesn't provide the URL of the photo on their mobile App, the Photobucket App doesn't work anymore, iCloud doesn't offer any options, and the board doesn't host photos...so driving and posting photos is pretty much impossible.
You'll need to log in to post.
