is this 1949 ford/95 tbird combo a good car? i really know nothing about cars very much but i really like how this one looks... guy wants 9500$ for it.... its got the look of a 1949 ford, but tight rims all nice tinted windshield and windows... My question is what is the moter like from the 95' tbird, is it ok for that heavy of a steel body?.. like is it going to haul booty if someone wants to race with me?? hahaha please give me some comments if you think im geting a good deal and if you think its good or bad moter and exc.. thanx for reading!!

Yes, the V8 is good... Its not going to be quick, per say, but it is competent, and an excellent cruiser. Assuming that the kit didn't add a ton of weight.
What exactly are you looking for when you say is it any good?
I dono, i was wondering if it would be good to drive around often or over the rockies per say, i dont know much about cars and if this was a good mix of cars for the money... kinda alot of dough to blow and find out that mabey i didnt want this car...
Small suggestion, complete sentences and punctuation are your friends. Spell check wouldn't hurt either.
As for the car, $9500 is a lot of money to pay for a 15-year old T-Bird with an ugly body. Even if it is a V8 it won't "have balls". That year was an anemic 4.6L with barely 200HP that would do 16.9's stock. Add on a couple hundred pounds of bodywork and you're talking 17's in the 1/4. I'd run very far away.

Well let's see, a stock 95 V8 TBird goes for under $1000 all day long in nice shape, a stock 49 Ford goes for under $10000 if you shop around, so why pay $9500 for this POS? It's over 4,000 Lbs, it has an underpowered engine with known coolant and spark issues (intakes blow out and spark plugs pop out of the heads taking the threads with them), and to top it all off it's ugly. There's about eleventy billion better/more interesting/faster/more reliable cars you could buy for less. That's why I would run away.

At least this one appears to have been done well/completely. Most I see are just the nose and never get past the primer stage.
However, I'm thinking you could probably find a resto-mod 49-50 Ford in driver quality for that kind of money, and it will actually still be worth something in five years, unlike this wannabe.
To be clear - it's a Thunderbird with aftermarket body parts to make it sort of look like a 1950 Ford. As such it's going to run and drive like any other Thunderbird, but it's not going to get you into any street rodder events.

The easy rod is an awful, awful thing. As has been stated, the V8 engine in the 94-95 T-Bird is a turd. I know because I have one. The only real way to fix it is drop the whole engine and install an all-aluminum Explorer 4.6.
If you want to buy an MN12, the correct answer is "Supercoupe." I know that because I have one of those, too.
I would rather have an STD than an easy rod. When I was selling a 94 Supercoupe 5-speed I told a potential buyer to leave as soon as he told me he was going to build an easy rod with it.
