A brief Google search confirmed what I thought, there was no SVT model of the Thunderbird, but this car clearly has a 4.6 under the hood. Could this be a prototype? Or just a hack job?

Tbird went to 4.6's for the V8 option for the 1994 model year. SuperCoupe was still the top performance version of this car when new. Someone got creative with some stickers and then priced accordingly.
Just a standard t-bird with some knock off cobra wheels and SVT badges. Nothing rare about that car.
The Supercoupe was canceled after the 1995 model year, leaving the 3.8 NA V6 and 4.6 SOHC V8 as the only engine options for 1996-1997. Ford built prototype 1998 SVT Thunderbirds with the 4.6 DOHC, but the MN12 platform was canceled after the 1997 model year. The car in the picture is nothing but a 1997 with the available 4.6 SOHC. 205 hp, 280 lb-ft of torque. Nothing special at all.
The silver rub strips do mark it as a Limited Edition, which had some minor cosmetic trim (floormats, etc) to separate them from the normal cars. Not really worth a premium.
