Short version - 1999 1500 Suburban - 4 wheel drive GAS -How do I tell which fuel pump I need to get?
Looking at the Rock Auto page, they list one for a 'low lubricity' or an 'except low lubricity'. It shows on the Rock Auto and O'Reilly pages list a code GFN, GFL or K55. No problem - check the glove box door, neither code is listed. The only 'G' code listed is in the glove box is GT4 and K55 is not listed either. Any idea how to tell which pump to order?
The long painful version - I bought the Suburban new and it has 325,000 miles on it. It has a full tank of gas and I've pretty much made the decision to cut the floor instead of dropping the tank. Symptoms: I do hear the pump running. It is load. When driving it cuts out or bogs down on acceleration and feels like it is going to die. When it did it in the past it would be when I ran it down below 1/4 tank. If I filled the tank and changed the fuel filter it would start well and run good. This time when I ran it low and changed the fuel filter, it ran ok for about 30 miles but then started to bog down again. I had the codes read and it said there was a lean issue on the right side. I have not checked the fuel pressure.
Any suggestions?
