Anybody know where I can get the SCCA car classifications list sorted by make/model rather than class?

It's really a pain in the ass to have to look through each class for a specific car, rather than zooming in on the car and finding what class it's in from that.

Thanks!

If you use the online version of the rulebook, can you search the pdf by the model in question?

Well, yes, but the issue is classifying cars from walkup registrations on site, where we don't really have computer access. I'd like to include a listing by make/model in our registrar's notebook that shows a given car, and then has the various letter grades for each class next to it.

I have a copy of the rulebook saved on mine. easy searching.

That's an idea, too, but I am trying to make it butt-simple for any registration volunteer to just look in a book and see. That might do as a fallback position, though.

Okay, now I see what you're asking for. Yeah, that would take a heck of a spreadsheet since you'd be breaking each car up by model, engine, generation, etc.

I'd love something like this too!

easy for them... would be to copy half the rule book into excel and resort it.... have fun with that.

the rule book has crappiest formatting in history of MAN. all the indents, are not actually there, and some cars take up extra lines... what you get is one, giant column with makes, models, years, submodels, classes, random looking digits... everything in that one column...EXCEPT anything that is red in the rulebook (new additions, I guess) they do not copy.

but there is this: http://scca.cdn.racersites.com/prod/assets/2013%20Stock%20by%20manufacturer.pdf

This sounds like a good idea. Care to share with the class?

PM's replied to.

I had started to add car specs too (weight, hp, torque, width, etc), so I could have a database to compare vehicles in each class, but didn't make it very far, and deleted the dozen or so entries I had.

If anybody wants an excel spreadsheet of the 2011 or 2012 (I forget which) stock class listings, shoot me a message and I'll send you a copy.

John, that's a great start; thanks! I will try to add additional classes (the various ST, SM, SP, etc.) in columns, then repost it.

Our autocross chair could use these I bet, it's his first year. And even the regulars would probably like a list like this. Hell, I'll be curious to see once all the ST type classes are entered.

For whatever class the car you already have fits in, there's some OTHER car all the "serious competitors" all have bought, prepared, and trailered to 1 event a month at enormous expense solely for the purpose of 4 minutes of dodging cones.

And the SCCA is planning, as I write, to do something to make it uncompetitive.
