Mustang GT 5.0-- killing teenagers for 50 years.

Just killed another 19 yo near my house. Tried to pass in a no passing zone on a curve in the rain. Spun into a F250 pulling a trailer.

I've been caught up in horsepower and had that feeling in my gut that yea, I'm about to do something stupid and this might not end well but nothing ever like that.

Knock on wood.

Only problem with Mustangs is that everyone who has a set of Flowmasters on one is convinced it's faster than every other Mustang with Flowmasters, and they're determined to prove it.

I guess I'm getting old, but the first thing I thought is that someone is going to get killed. Morons in Mustangs and with idiots lining the streets is inviting disaster. I would have arrested every one of them.

On a different note, I used to cringe when kids showed up in 5.0 Mustangs back in the '80's and '90's. Nothing good was going to come of that. I witnessed a few hit things like telephone poles and curbs, and one went into a fairly large drainage ditch backwards. Not to pick on Mustangs, but they seemed to be the worst offenders.

Man. Between these assclowns and the two different Bike Weeks, no wonder Myrtle Beach is known as the 'Redneck Riviera'. My brother lives in Murrells Inlet just south of MYB, he says the locals just stay home during the summer.

I was up there Friday, working. I charge extra to go to Myrtle Beach during the summer months and extra again for either bike week.

I despise that town on a cold winter day. During the summer it's just misery. Why anyone would want to vacation there, I will never understand.

so... are these crashes 100% driver error or is there something wrong with these cars?
Seems like the brakes don't work or something.

Driver error, plain and simple. Too much HP and testosterone and those two are like mixing drinking and driving. Someone's bound to crash.

Well, the crowd is encouraging burnouts at that spot, and coming out of a 90° turn, some people just have more ambition than talent. Others lose it just because they're slow to react/overreact when the car starts to drift as the rear wheels spin.

As a Mustang owner, this thread is shameful.....its sad how many owners have way too many ponies for their own good.
