These clowns should be lose their licenses, if you choose to take risks do it where you won't hurt somebody else. I cringe every time I go to almost any car meet (even cars and coffee) because too many people have more $$$ and HP than they have driving ability, and have to show it when they leave. You can "leave with enthusiasm", without putting somebody else at risk. I will step down from the soapbox now.

Well, the crowd is encouraging burnouts at that spot, and coming out of a 90° turn, some people just have more ambition than talent. Others lose it just because they're slow to react/overreact when the car starts to drift as the rear wheels spin.
I think they were tampered with.

Those guys are idiots! They would think that it's stupid to have a meet and greet at a dragstrip, and then actually race against each other.

It's not just Mustangs who do that. When I had my 318ti I went to a few BMW meet and greets.. until I got super tired of the asshattery that went on there. The final straw was getting stuck behind a brand new M6 on the way from the meet to a place to get food. the 20something who owned it had hacked off of muffflers and welded in straight pipes.. after about 2 miles my ears wanted to bleed..

Worst part was, he drove like the stereotypical BMW owner. He would come up behind slower cars and rev the piss out of that engine until they moved out of the way. When we got to the restraint/bar.. I kept going

As a new owner of a Mustang GT with a loud exhaust as well as several sleeveless shirts, I can totally see how this happens.

These cars are FAST! And this is from someone who had a Miata and a MINI.

This is a display of the "car show mentality" that I have left behind. Not just Mustangs, it's all kinds of car shows and car meets.

I heard some blowers in there. I'm betting some of them were coming out of the burn out north of 60mph and sideways. That a lot of momentum to contain with little space and less skill.

Don't come crying here if one ever hits you then, after all "it's fun"

i stay far away from Mustang owners, so i'm safe..

people used to do this leaving the Car Craft show in St Paul when they shut down for the night- they'd all turn right and do the big smokey burnout show heading south into St Paul to amuse the people lined up along Snelling ave, i'd always turn north and go the other way so as to avoid stuff like this..

I have owned a Mustang for over a decade now...

BMW's have affluent trashy owners

Porsche's have elitist owners who look down on anything that isn't from Stuttgart

Corvettes have gold chain wearing baby-boomers who do nothing but polish them

and, Mustangs, well... Mustangs have douchecanoe, over excitable, under driving educated owners, who very quickly get in over their head due to a misbalance in the power/driver ability ratio.

Many cars have owner stereotypes which, while based in statistical observation of owners, do not come close to representing either the vehicle or the owners of those vehicles that would be worthwhile to meet without the vehicle in the equation.

From the looks of it, these guys would be bad news no matter what they were driving, as long at it had decent power and probably not even worthwhile if we were talking pedal bikes.

Reminds me of carshows they had where I used to live. They started having burnout contests in a crowded carshow parkinglot. With no barrier between people and cars doing burnouts, with small children standing within 10-15feet of the cars doing burnouts, sometimes directly in front of the cars. That was the death of carshows as enjoyable things for me. Can't really say I have gone to many, that were not something like Carlisile, since then.

Remember folks, horsepower is not a substitute for adequate sexual attractiveness or ability.

It isn't just Mustangs of course. I remember an autocross event some years ago where a bunch of Honda guys showed up with their slammed Civics. They got smoked during the event and at lunch, started doing drag races among themselves on the street out front. They were all promptly arrested when one of the organizers called the cops. Evidently they had been warned by the local region not to do that, but they did anyway.

I am a Mustang owner. I am more than willing to admit that there are a lot of idiot Mustang owners. However, there are also a lot of idiot Camaro, Honda, VW, Nissan, diesel truck, and Scion owners, as well.

Mustangs get a bad rap because it is one of the few vehicles that has had uninterrupted production for 50 years--there are a lot of Mustangs out there and thus a lot more douchebag owners to notice.
