I have never liked the front end of the current Charger, so I guess I'm one of the few that actually likes the redesign. IMO, it matches the rear better.

The Challenger SRT on display at the New York Auto show was the first one I'd sat in where they had kept the power seats operable, rather than jsut slamming them all the way down and back. Because of this, I was able to get into a driving position so that I didn't feel like I was in a cave. This totally changed my view of the car. Yes, it's still huge, but at least I could see out of it. I want one.

That would be a '70-74 Challenger.

Precisely.

OK, so at first I was not all about the Charger redesign. I don't think I like the black bumper with the red car. But... I just saw a picture of a silver car on the bing.com and with the black grill, that car looks pretty good! It's that weird liquid metal/dark silver color. The black bumper should be an option.

Also, it looks like the general consensus is that the Challenger just got better. The interior looks great! Hey, is that the steering wheel from the Ram 1500? Nope. Not anymore.

I don't mind to update a bit. Sad you still can't get a manual with the 6 cylinder in the Challenger though....

If you are going to get a Challenger why on EARTH would you want the 6 cylinder?

Lower purchase price? Better gas mileage? Lower insurance costs?

I for one welcome our new charger overlords. It's not better but it is not worse.

That Pentastar 3.6 acts like it has an extra pair of cylinders. I was impressed by my buddy's Challenger with one, and I rented a Jeep GC with one. Was still impressed.

I saw the new Charger at Carlisle this summer. It does look better in person, but I prefer the aggressiveness of the '14 front end.

With my Charger the insurance would have been the same if I got the V6 or V8. On the open road if I don't have my foot in it I can manage 28 mpg with the Hemi cruising along at 70 mph in town I manage about 15 mpg and that is with me gooning around a fair bit. I will give you purchase price on new.

I know the Pentastar is actually a good V6 and it has some umph but it still is not the same. You are buying a muscle car, at least get an RT.

I think it's an improvement over the previous model which I did not like, even if it looks like a Dodge Dart and a 2015 Mustang.

You can also get it without lipstick. Also, the Scat Pack/SRT 392/Hellcat front facia is sweet.

I actually like this style better. I was never a fan of the RAM truck grill. But style is low on my list - function is high.

I'm looking at the scat pack as an alternative to the unicorn CTS-V wagon. I need a highway road trip vehicle for a family of 4. At other times the fold-down rear seats and big trunk are critical for hauling hobby gear. I'm also tall with a long torso so head room is critical. So comments like "it's too big - I'd rather buy a Miata/M3/FRS/etc" don't apply.

Anyway, besides a thread full of "eww - it's ugly"... what does GRM think of the specs? 485 HP, 25 mpg highway, Brembos, Goodyear F1's, 4.5sec 0-60, 180mph top speed, launch control, 8-speed paddle shifted auto, ~$40K MSRP.

This would be a DD - I would also have a small 2-seat vert of some sort around at all times.

Good specs. If I were a cop, I'd drive one for my work car. Otherwise not interested at all. Too big.

The Hellcat front is a major improvement.

JV8 I love my 07 RT. Aftermarket exhaust, CAI and a Diablo tune later the thing really is a ton of fun. It is my daily driver and it is an awesome car for eating up the highway miles. Very comfortable and plenty of room for a big guy like me. It is one of the few cars we drove where my head had plenty of room and I can put the seat far enough back to have more than enough leg room. The adjustable pedals help my 5'1" wife drive the car comfortably as well.
