I wanted a C5 Z06 so bad, and excellent examples were easy to find at around $20K. I just couldn't make it work as a third car budget-wise, and I probably missed the window. C5 Z06 examples are dipping to $35K, which is outstanding for a 500+HP car, but still beyond my toy budget.

Immediately following my graduation from University, I was drawn to the Saab 900 Turbo in a big way.  Unfortunately, my new employer was paying me in a way that was not so big.  Nice to see these cars getting the attention they deserve.

C5 Z06 is not 500hp, 385 or 405 depending on the year. That's the C6 Z06 with the 7 liter, 505hp engine known for dropping valves.

And the C5 Z06s are starting to get back into the low 20k realm.  Not 3,000 mile examples, but honest drivers at least.

I looked really hard at C6 Z06s before I ordered my BRZ in April of last year. But I couldn't really justify $50k on a used car with no warranty, that would immediately need an expensive fix to prevent needing a new engine.
