Doesn't look like a huge change, which is fine by me. I still think the S550 looks great.

Curious how many changes to the chassis really took place; I see the roll of code from S550 to S650 but that looks like facia rework and not something more intense.  It doesn't look horrible but I wouldn't say it looks great either.

Looks like they're going for a Mustang 2 sort of look with that grill, hopefully that is the only similarity

I like how it sort of incorporates some of the GT 350 look, but also has some of the last gen Honda Civic going on with the side brake duct area.

It will have a 2.3l engine standard, with an optional V6 and a 5.0l V8.

As a guess.  smiley

They discontinued the V6 in 2018, so unless they bring it back....

I still think it's funny that some local dealers were/are advertising "Come see the new Ford Mach-E!" Very obviously not using the word "Mustang"

The leaked pic looks cool, same vibes as the current GT500.

I figured by now they'd incorporate some Fox elements in the styling rather than it being 1969 for 20 years. I guess that's the stop year for all the modern muscle cars though.

Geez. Ford isn't going to build the thing for 2 more years and it's already leaking?  And I thought British cars were bad at keeping their fluids in.

I would like a 7/8 scale  S197, a bit more '66  than '69. Oh well, that's never going to happen.

I would not call the S550 retro, unless 1990s jelly bean cars are retro?

It's... kind of retro? It's an evolution of the S197, which was aggressively retro, especially the 2005-09 models. Seems like that's the template for all Mustangs going forward, and I'm OK with that.

I'm chummy with the service advisor at my local dealer. I asked him if there was any negative feedback from customers on the naming of that...SUV thing. "Oh, yeah," he confirmed.

Ford ought to have just leaned into it and named it the 'E-dsel'.

It is probably being re-called before it is built.  devil
