I heard that story. The guy was applying for grants and whatnot to solar power the place, etc. He's really serious about it, making an artist colony, etc.
Pretty sure they said he's been broken in on at least twice so far. Not so comforting, but I guess when you're a broke/starving artist you probably don't have much to steal anyway.

Oh, that might be a little unfair- I've built over 200 houses with Habitat for Humanity in 5 different countries- many for under $1200.
But how did they do in the concourse and drag race?

What was their street value?

How many man hours were put into each one? Is that included in the budget?
And our teachers said we couldn't get through life being the class clowns.

Concourse- better than most houses in the neighborhoods.
Drag race- how's 30 complete 1100 SF US houses in one week? 100 Tijuana houses in one week?

Over 3000.
Never. HFH doesn't charge for labor. But they Do account for FMV- usually through second mortgages which are proportionally forgiven annually until the first mortgage is paid off.
I realize, that sounds very unfair to someone who would rather pay for labor!

Are you jealous of Guido again?
If I had an army of oompaloompas I would have a sweet assed clown car too... until then I will just drive a plain clown car.

I will confess that we utilized over 3000 oompaloompas to build those 30 houses in one week. Do I get a free set of tires??

working with them now, and it is amazing how much gets donated. It's the stupid stuff like paint brushes and mailboxes they actually have to buy.
