i cannot wait until this 3D gimmick E36 M3 goes away. 
I'm a loooong way from owning a 3d television. Buying a camera to record 3d images is even further away.
3D is not going away although I agree it's a very young technology.
Young? They invented 3D decades ago. It was stupid then, and it's stupid now. Why do I want to wear glasses for everything I watch?

It would be impossible for me to agree with you any more than I do. It couldn't die a fiery death soon enough to please me. 
The lenses are too close together. If I were to do something like this, I would measure the distance between the center of my eyes. then it would look like the world looks through my eyes.

The new digital 3D is pretty danged good.
Many of us wear glasses every day of our lives and far from making our lives a living hell, it makes it enjoyable.
We are beginning to see 3D movies that don't overdo the effects, those are good. I saw Tangled in both 3D and 2D. 3D made it much more enjoyable.
AAAAAaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhhhhhh! I accidentally told someone I saw Tangled. My life is over!

I can't wait 'til that danged colour TV goes away. Useless cheap gimmick, who ever wanted that anyway? And don't get me started on them "talkie" films! Tarnation! They done ruined cinema good!
Yeah, except for I don't have to wear to glasses or hearing aids to watch color movies with talking. 3D is a gimmick, and a stupid one at that. All that work to make high-definition picture just to throw it off so it can "jump out" why you wear stupid glasses is idiotic. I'll stick with the plain old 2D and actually keep the HD.
