I saw this article on my facetube feed, I started reading, and realized it was worth a share. I particularly liked the potato. http://news.distractify.com/dark/trivial-facts/fascinating-epiphanies-about-everyday-moments/?v=1 Helps if I post the link.
I giggled at a few of those.
My favorite was the Google self driving car with the "I'm feeling lucky" button. 
Some funny ones in there but the one about cell phones is wrong. Asking "where are you" could have been equally valid over phones (caller ID is fairly recent), radio, or even letters (not always addressed to an actual address).
Also there are many real Placebo-Mans already

They meant when calling someone, not when receiving a call.
Didn't need caller ID. I knew what address I had called.
