When what you want is more than a Monte Carlo with vinyl seats...
...but still keep the vinyl seats.
I had never heard of it but google brought me to the whole story.

I remember Motor Trend did an article about that car back in the day. They got in a little hot water with Rolls Royce over the name, the radiator and the Spirit of Ecstasy radiator ornament.
Holy moley. There's one in ATL for sale right now, too. What are the chances?

They were doing that with fake convertible tops right into the late 80's. A guy I used to work with bought a Cutlass Supreme "Roadster" that had the windows covered like that. Awful.

In reply to JohnRW1621:
The story is fascinating.
I'm stunned that there was any sort of demand for the car, though. "Homely" is being very generous.

What is fascinating is that it is seriously written from the perspective of someone who really thinks that hideous fiberglass monstrosity is the high point in vehicle styling.
That is right up there with "wrapping Roy Orbison in cling film" erotic fan fiction as far as things my mind will never comprehend.
