That's good to know. I drove one of the newer ones with a 6 or an 8 (can't remember which) and it felt pretty chubby.

Auto's got 3.73's and manuals were 3.55's in a 94-98 SN95 width housing on 4 lugs.

So is a 5-lug swap as easy as SN95 front spindles and rear axle shafts?

we used Ranger rotors and Aerostar axles/drums when we put a turbocoupe rear end and swapped to 5 lug wheels on a friend's 89 Mustang...

those are the cars that all wound up in junkyards because the air ride shocks would blow out and render the car a permanent low rider because the owners didn't want to shell out the cash to fix it right and weren't savvy enough to know that Thunderbird struts, shocks, and springs bolt in, right?

Sort of.

If you were junkyarding the swap you'd need Cougar/T-Bird LCAs and rear upper spring perches to weld in, a K-member, A-arms and a ball joint sleeve/bushing if you were using the Cougarbird balljoint with the Mark VII spindle.

He was very fast todayat the Det SCCA season opener! At the end of the second run group he more than likely had FTD. He was the only car in the second group in the 49 second range. I handed out time slips that group. I did leave before 3rd run group though.
