sorry, only one flag holder on my house and it's gonna have the old English D in it.
One of the things I love most about America is nobody can tell me what flag to hang.
Patriot Day, as joint resolution signed into law by executive order requests that the US flag be flown at half staff.
...Whereas in the aftermath of the attacks the people of the United States stood united in providing support for those in need: Now, therefore, be it Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled: Designation of September 11 as Patriot Day.

Mine's usually up.
It's at half-mast today.
But I do not believe in the Love It Or Leave It idea. I'd rather Love It and work to improve It.
Saw a picture, taken near ground zero, I think, on the news this past few days. I could swear the flag they showed in the picture was being flown incorrectly. That is, it was hanging on a pole mounted parallel to the ground (90 degrees from the front of a building) and the stars were closest to the building.
If you fly a flag (today, or anyday) please fly a presentable flag and fly it correctly. It's not very patriotic to fly a flag so faded or torn up that it looks like the t-shirt you shine your lawnmower with.

Back in 1977 I was 14 years old and cleaned out new houses (scrap wood/bricks/lunches/drywall pieces) for a part-time job in the Chicago suburbs.
A guy from Tennessee was the main concrete guy and he had this bumper sticker on his truck. Always a Red Chevrolet, full sized trucks, 4x4's, with hand lettering and pinstriping.
This guy also told us how to hot wire a 1967 plumbers junk truck so we wouldn't have to carry our scraps across the construction site on saturday when nobody was around.
The guy left an impression on me and that bumper sticker always comes back to my brain.....
Pete:
I remember that bumper sticker. And I understand youthful impressions. I went to college in the 60s.
By the way, I just bought a new, American-made Chevy truck.
