It's kind of bittersweet but a car I helped build went up on the auction block today.

It's not a particularly unique or rare car but I spent a lot of time doing the little things that most probably wouldn't notice just because it was one of my best friend's cars. He and I both thought it was his forever car so he 'spared no expense'. Everything is high dollar or OEM stuff so it was fun to put together but now kind of sad to see it disappear into the internet somewhere. I hope that I get to see it enjoyed and driven but I have a feeling it will continue to just sit.
I figured some of you out there could lament with me on seeing cars go down the road. What are some stories you guys have with selling your pride and joys?
that is a bittersweet moment. I hope the memories of the build stay with you.
Oh my, that is a really, really nice car...
Very nice, love a long roof. Currently have a B8 Avant in the fleet.
Fiance has a 05 Allroad. I like it...minus that [aging] air suspension setup it came with.
That's a very nice, much nicer than the one I drove this morning, Allroad there. Ive been there, help with a car and see it go away. http://turbomcoupe.com/

I do to. When I was working on it I really enjoyed the test drive but felt the car was just a hair too big for me. Did some trading and ended up with a b5 s4 avant and that at least satiated the urge so I didn't buy the allroad!

I had a stage 3 6MT 2.7tt allroad. Loved the size and power of it, didn't like the maintenance. Even tho I bought a friends car, who took fabulous care of it, I still ended up having to do a large amount of work to it. They're great cars but one of the most maintenance needy cars Audi ever made...
We had an 04 Allroad from new till 2 years ago, really liked it but it got really expensive in the end. We have a "smallroad" now - A4 version - which is almost as big as the A6 was and has similar performance, but WAY better fuel mileage!
I keep thinking I'll spot my old E-Type or Ferrari Dino someday, but so far, nope.....
