And the winner is?
OnePlus Pro7. On paper, it was the right answer. Nearly the spec of the note10+ and 40% cheaper. In execution- it felt right. While I watched some hood rats try and do some hood rat stuff- (Polk county represent!) I got a chance to put my hands on all- except the 3xl. The 3a XL is a decontented version of the same thing, so we could use that as an analog. The Note10+ looks really fancy. It also felt a lot like my s8+, which isn't really something I was interested in. It felt cheap, despite being by far the most expensive. The screen wasn't noticably different than the pro, at least to my busted ass eyes. Really, the pro only lost at outset because of the charging issue, but that seems to be more of a charge block issue than anything else. It was good ebough overall that SWMBO- who is a notorious LG fanatic- has ordered one for herself. That leaves me with the one iPhone XR that is SWMBO jr's- but she's paying for that so it's not my problem. It'll be the last phone she has on my plan period- I don't trust her enough to continue payments and she is attempting some dumb E36 M3 right now.
I think you'll be happy. I went with the Pixel 2 when it came out. It was a hard choice between that and the oneplus, but I chose the pixel for 1) first to update, 2) wanted to use project fi, 3) unlimited google photo storage, and 4) that was when the OnePlus sold out so fast and they decided to stop making it until the new flagship came out. I found a few on Swappa, but they were asking Bentley prices... like over $1000. For a phone. crazy.
I was afraid of not having expandable storage, but I have mine set up to delete photos on the phone after X amount of time. They're all on google photos. I actually chose the smaller internal storage and I have never come close to maxing it out.
As for non-replacable batteries, I'm reading this on my four year old Droid turbo.
Although it's not supposed to be replaceable, I replaced the battery myself a few months ago for about $30.
Once they are out of warranty, you can do whatever you want with them.

I've had a Huawei handset or two. Maybe. I think the oldest phone currently in my possession might be (I have.....6? My 17 year old Samsung analong, a Nexus 4, a Nexus 5, a htc sensation 4g that was a giant pile of E36 M3 but somehow still works, the now broken s8+, and the OnePlus). I've just never been super impressed with Huawei. IDK. Either way, I'm impressed thusfar. The only thing right now isy Futurama game keeps locking up.
