Alright gang, my Samsung BV350 dryer just started flashing "check filter" icon at me. It won't run.
I took everything apart (top panel, bottom back panel, lint trap assembly) shop vacced out all the books and crannys. Used compressed air to clean it further into the cracks and crevices. Repeated until it seems more than usually clean. It still flashes the icon at me and refuses to run.
When turned "on" I can hear the solenoid tell the motor to start but no turning occurs. Motor/drum seems to turn freely.
It's out of warranty and when I called Samsung customer service they were no help. They would like to send out a tech (for money) and sign me up for the extended warrantee program (for money) on Monday.
Before I start spending scarce dollars on something that may very we'll be simple does anyone have any helpful advice? Please?
unplug it and plug it back in? Sounds like you already did, but in case you haven't...
Or unplug it for several minutes and replug?
check the exhaust vent for plugging?
just guesses here.
EDIT
Just saw a youtube video about replacing the moisture sensor bars. they're located in the filter housing and it looks like a super easy repair, although they don't cover diagnosing them. They look inexpensive too, but that doesn't mean they are.
google search.. use dryer model#, and "check filter", and reset....
see what pops. that is how swmbo begins to search for repairing our appliances
Get out the multimeter, see where you should have power but don't.

Absolutely this!
You are not the only one that owns this model dryer and you are not the only one having this problem with said dryer. Somebody somewhere has related their experience on the internet.
The Google machine is actually remarkably non helpful this time around. It's frustrating and we now have jury rigged clotheslines strewn about the basement drying clothes that I'd rather not get mildewy.
One mild shock, more cleaning, more poking around. No real progress though :-/
Did you mean DV350? Not finding anything for BV350. How many times is the filter light flashing?
Erm, I guess I messed that up. Yeah it's a DV350.
It flashes 3 times on start up.
In reply to KyAllroad:
Ugh sounds like a control board then. You didn't see any belt carnage or anything abnormal inside did you?
Nope. Visual inspection is all good, ney perfect.
So here's what happened. Justanswer.com request netted me a phone call with a Samsung tech out of Missouri. It cost me $37 to have a knowledgable person talk me through the repair. Apparently the "click" meant that the control board is good and that power wasn't getting to the motor. I pulled out the thermal fuse in the blower housing and tested it for continuity (bad, so yay we found the problem). I taped up the hole in the housing and put a jumper wire across the plug housing. Reassembled everything and have a functional dryer!!!!!
Monday I'll swing by the appliance repair shop and get a new $5 thermal fuse and fix it correctly.
Good news
Is the belt still wrapped around the drum? Electrical things still try to move elcetrons, but if the belt's off the CEL comes on.
Follow wires to a relay and see if there's a reset on or near the relay.
Good luck.
How old is this thing?
Belt was perfect. Dryer is maybe 3 years old.

Yay, I was right! I just called it the wrong thing.
Now, why did it overtemp? Ours was overtemp because it was dirty?
I'm guessing so.
Annoyingly, the part isn't at our local "we have everything" appliance parts house. They have to special order it. Takes three days to get in and costs $25. Berkeley that! I looked on fleabay and found the entire blower assembly (new) with integral drum motor and both sensors for $100. I need to dig around more but it can't be more than $5 for this stupid thing.
Describe the part to us, has it got any numbers on it?
