I actually welcome the styling.........and the goodness the Mondeo brings after its last incursion into the states.
Its alot better than the "YO DAWG, LOOK AT MAH CHOME GRILLZZZZ" one from 2010 that surpassed the "too far already" '07 style.......

Going to be keeping a close eye on this one. Hopefully in 2-3 years I will be deciding between this and the new Mazda 6 (especially if diesel)

This made me laugh.
I agree, they really should offer the sport version with a manual transmission and the 2.0 Ecoboost. Maybe even have a ST version or SVT version. I really REALLY wish they'd come out with the 2.0 Ecoboost AWD Focus.
I guess if you don't like the styling of an Aston Martin I can understand the dislike of the new Fusion. But saying you don't like it just because the nose looks like an Aston Martin and you like Astons, your just being an elitist douche.
I for one, think Ford has come a long way since the early 2000s. I sold Fords in 2004 and just about everyone came to the dealer to look at trucks and SUVs. I didn't waste my time in the car lot, no one wanted them.

And? Would you bitch that your girlfriend looks like Angelina Jolie but is really just Susie Smith? White people problems, man...

Then I wonder if you can parts bin engineer one... I am sure someone is already working on tune for them. There were tunes out on the SHO before really anybody had the car on the dealer lots....

Careful of the "tunes"- most of them are hacks. I've seen the video where someone "tuned" and then grenaded their SHO engine. We had a guy stop by and ask about 'tuning' and he was clueless- just randomly chaning things to make it "better".
That, and most Bosch modules are getting harder and harder to re-flash without the right stuff.
Just sayin.
I hate that the bottom of the windshield has to be about 4 feet from the ground. This is a car. It is not a truck or an SUV. That's just how it is these days though - not just this car.
I like the plagiarized Aston Grille a bit.

Yeah, I am not digging the over bloated look of new cars including the high fender lines.

Duke of Understeer and I were working at a race shop last year that had a BMW that ran a couple of races in World Challenge. We had a engine management guy from Kinetic Racing that spent about an hour with the car on the dyno screwing with the stock Bosch engine management. He was able to adjust just about everything the system. Its wasn't something alot of people have the capability to do from what I understand. It was pretty interesting but a bit over my head although I understand engine management.

Didn't they have the Lincoln mks out with ecoboost before the sho was even announced?
Between that and Livernois getting one of the first ones didn't hurt either.

I'm getting pretty far off topic here- but one other thing to know about these things- while you may find an MEDG17.0 in both a BMW and a Ford, the odds of them running totally different software is pretty high.
If you have the tools, and know what to change, the re-calibration can be exactly what you want, safe, and robust. But that's a big IF.
I would hope that an OEM would be willing to support programs like World Challenge so that they can be best represented.
Anyway, I digress. I like the Fusion. Probably won't get one, but the one I have is pretty nice for the prototype it is.

Announced, no. The MKS EcoBoost and SHO were released to production with a couple of weeks of each other. And the MKT/Flex were a few weeks after that- the work was done all at the same time.
More importantly, that chassis is much bigger than the Fusion, especially the new one that does not even get a V6.
In reply to alfadriver:
By "tune", I mean companies like HPTuners, SCT, Diablosport, et al., not the end user "tuner". Really, I would like to see the auto trans functions written out to get the manual as plug and play as it can get.

So do I. They don't really know what they are changing- which is why we have gotten a few calls about it. Some of them have gotten into the code enough to find names of tables, functions, etc- but I've still not seen any one of them make correct changes to properly make more power vs. just hacking to get more power. If you want to risk a $15k repair bill, OEM's do know that cars are being flashed, and can deny coverage.

If it doesn't force a powered down limp-in mode, I would live with the MIL and missing slushbox. Warranty repairs don't bother me. Prove my flashed ECU caused my power seat to quit working.

This is absolutely correct. When we plug in the Ford computer, called the IDS, it lets us know that there has been a chip/tuner/calibrator installed. Just a simple code that pops up. Very VERY common on diesels around here.
Now, that being said, SCT is run by Chris Johnson, he was a Ford engineer before starting JMS (Johnson MotorSports) and custom tuning cars all over the world. Teamed up with SuperChips and started SuperChips Custom Tuning. Chris designed the 4R70W transmission and the EEC-V cpu used in the 94-96 Fords before OBD2.
Chris is the ONLY person I'd ever let tune a car of mine. The fact he's been doing it forever and the fact he has MANY friends who are high up the food chain in Ford and gets his hands on things before anyone else, helps him get a jump on it all.
Thats the worst part about the modern stuff.....my future BIL bought a '12 ecoboost f150, in writing it states it cannot have exhausts, tunes, intake, etc done or else automatically voids the warranty.......
I'll assume this is over the string of '10 sho owners lunching their awd systems.....

But then you have the dealers that read it as sure it's "tuned" and you modified it, but that non working power seat, sorry you voided the warranty, even when the failure is unrelated. If I had a failed injector instead, I know I would potentially SOL, but then again there are dealers that will let that slide.
