what's the best car for ploughing thru snowbanks? Buick Electra?
I used to love to hoon about in my Pinto wagon. Parking lots were my playground. However, black ice made that thing frightening.
THIS! well, not really, but its Hank Hill Approved...

My Yuuper freinds used to say that an air-cooled VW Beatle was the best winter car there was. Would not get stuck and you could drive through snow up over the headlights.
I once had a '71 Catalina that worked pretty well at busting snowdrifts, up until the time I tackled one that was about 4 feet deep and 50 feet long...I made it about 35 feet before the snow packed under the car and lifted the wheels off the ground. Fortunately, I had just left a farmer friend's house, and he was able to pull me out with his tractor.
Pizza cutter wheels and tires. Front heavy. Lightweight.
It worked VERY well. I keep thinking about patching the floors and using it for winter duty again, but I probably won't.
SAAB wagon; what other car can you back into the funny parking spot at the corner of the lot no one else wants AND be able to get back out?
FWD on the pavement, rear end in the air.
Priceless.
Man, that SAAB has the highest tailfin to rear end surface area ratio I've ever seen. Awesome.
Want to blast through snowbanks? Subaru on Hakks.

Yes, I've been seeing the similarities with STEB as well.

3) A really enthusiastic FNG with a problem finding the Shift key.
4) More than one of the above are correct.
I loved my '79 Bronco with the deer killer, err, "guard" up front.
I even found out that the plow 'round my parts was exactly 2" shorter than the length of said Bronco when I got sideways and stuck between the berms perpendicular to the direction of traffic. Luckily it was a road that sees MAYBE 1-2 cars per day, as having each bumper stuck 1" into opposing snowbanks made for an interesting time digging myself out. (I found the trick was to dig just enough in front of one bumper to get myself some running room to plow deeper into the opposite bank, drop back into 2wd, then romp on the gas to get the rear end coming around).
No, I don't have a picture. Yes it was fun
My favorite was Dad's 1984 3/4t 6.2 Diesel suburban that was lifted 6" on 235/85R16's. Big, heavy, tall and a monster.
To go through snow banks you need inertia. Lots.
The Deuce and a Quarter wins.
As long as the windows are perminatly down and you constantly shout "Ah ain't gittin' on no plane!"

Hey, makes sense...you push through the snow which goes over and around the hood, which pushes down on the car and gives more traction and lowers the nose pushing more snow over the hood...
Anything on Hakkas. My '96 Miata plowed plenty of drifts and ran happily through snow over the hood through 3 Buffalo winters. I had lots of fun and never, ever got stuck.
