T-Hip for sure!
Robbie Robertson (The Band)...Sara McLaughlan...Honeymoon Suite...Frozen Ghost...
The Ca-nooks can definately bring it when it comes to quality rock/pop music.
Well... since you mentioned The Band... Rompin' Ronnie lives here in my home town and Sebastian Bach was raised here.

I did. (see "T-Hip"--2 posts above). Their early stuff (Road Apples, Up to Here, etc. are fantastic albums IMO).
What is that saying about opinions are like a$$holes...everybody has one

Also do not like you atm. The list continues to grow.

i got hung up on atm, was trying to figure out how ass-to-mouth was relevant to this conversation. FWIW, i'm not a big fan of it either. then i realized you meant at the moment. i like old material by Barenaked Ladies. they're canadian, yes?
News Flash!!! This just in, Samuel Clemens is politically incorrect. Huck Finn was a ................Books will now be reprinted with correct verbage.
Thanks for making me laugh Angry Here's a link for atm

I completely understand now why you'd confuse "at the moment" with "ass to mouth", considering you listen to the Barenaked Ladies
I'm sure somebody else has already mentioned this one, but I can't resist.

Since Mark Knopfler has been mentioned, I wonder if any of you have seen his classic car and bike collection. Part of it can be seen ~HERE~
Like Nick Mason, he favours vintage stuff. He drove a post-war Invicta with Alain de Cadenet at the '04 Le Mans Classic.
He's also known for a song about a classic aircraft:~Red Staggerwing~ (with Emmylou Harris)
Returning to the main point of this thread......
....I also think that this is much ado about nothing. In 1967, Ed Sullivan made The Rolling Stones change the lyrics, "Let's spend the night together" to "Let's spend some time together. Whenever anyone tries to "hide" (or "sanitize") things these days, it becomes "public" on the internet the next day.

i'll just go ahead and throw in an NSFW, in case the reference to my post was too subtle.

It was a team effort, my good mate
So........um.......
Am I the only one who sings, at the end of "Money for Nothin'", I want my MGB?
Or changes the words from "Juke Box Hero", to "Sports Car Hero"?
Now we Canadians are going to review our indiscretion with the Money fro Nothing song...
http://www.cbc.ca/arts/music/story/2011/01/21/crtc-dire-straits-money-for-nothing.html
I am just amused at the fact that it took 25 or so years to make a stink about this...must be a bad year for hocky in Canadia, that we can't find something more productive to do with our time.
poopshovel wrote: Oh, and I'm shocked that anyone's shocked by (presumably) the CRTC banning the song. It's HATE SPEECH after all, 'inciting hatred toward an identifiable group,' which could land Mark Knopfler in jail for up to 14 years if he lived in Canada. Welcome to America 2030.
Getting back on subject, and in reference to the above, there once was a song that shudcuda offended a lot more people that this one, and it's... about a very large group of people.
I heard Money For Nothing on the radio the other day on the Philly "Classic Gen-X Station". The entire verse in question was edited out.
I think the next time I go home, I'll have to be blasting this when I cross the border. Because I can.

I saw what you did there...
Don't worry -- the decision is now under review. Seems like 200 plus people complained about the complaint:
