Can't have them hanging just anywhere you know. I expect jail is the best place a convicted murderer should hang themselves.
Spare a thought for the correctional staff that deal with these events. Not an easy thing to do regardless of how much experience you have.
My only sympathy goes to the staff that has to deal with it. Not to mention possible disciplinary actions for any guards on duty who would be deemed responsible.

True, funeral costs are a lot less than decades of prison.
As a card carrying Patriots honk, the Hernandez story was always fascinating to me. How could a guy so talented with the whole world in front of him be such a pile of human excrement at the same time? All he had to do was play football and not be a wannabe thug. Seems simple, doesn't it? It truly boggles the mind how he got mixed up in the bad stuff, and how he seemingly embraced it off the field. What an idiot, and what a waste.
What puzzles me is the timing of this.
He just got off on a double murder charge, and was trying to raise funding for a possible run at getting his conviction overturned. Even if he did though, his buddy that he shot in the face (who somehow survived) "promised" that he was going to kill him if he ever got out. Interesting that he took the coward's path with this instead of being a "tough guy". Was it remorse, or did something else happen? We'll probably never know.

You can take the boy out of the hood, but you cannot take the hood out of the boy?
I have no idea if he came from a hood background. If not, then just a very sad pretender maybe. Sadly it is very much considered to be the height of cool to be a gangster / criminal in some circles today.

Please don't sully the name of Sheriff JW Pepper by including him in a thread about a POS murderer.
Secret agent??? On whose side??????

Bed sheet tied to bars so no real cleanup. As evil as that sounds.
If he was in protective or mental with a full watch watch the most common way is to fall and bite through your tongue and bleed out. That is less fun to clean up.
In reply to Tony Sestito:
Considering he had himself tattooed in celebration of his "alleged" body count I highly doubt he was remorseful.

I was rocking back on my chair as a kid, fell over backwards and nearly bit my tongue off (thank goodness for a missing front tooth). Never knew it could have been fatal!
Yeah, this confused me. He beat a case, was working on fighting the others. Cliques up in prison, neck tattoo and all. Now this? Methinks he was helped, and the jail just doesn't give two E36 M3s.
You live the life, you pay the price. Talented or not at the end of the day he was a criminal that is only in the news because he was a sports star.

this ^^^
gets off on a murder charge then ends up dead
The other Thought I had was if he'd had a whole lot of knocks to the head (cte or whatever the acronym is) and ended up offing himself in impulse fashion Ala junior Seau, Dave Mirra, etc.

It doesn't usually affect people that young, but yeah, that's a possibility. Hopefully they'll study his brain.
His lawyer is saying it was an inside job. Cops are saying he did it himself. Citing single cell, gen pop, etc. If I know anything it's that nearly any lock is defeatable with the right tools. And prisoners have nothing but time. Not to mention im sure whoever gets to claim that death just got made inside. I'm now interested in this whole debacle.
It's interesting to see the postings that got the most +1's. Apparently misinformed, or Patriots haters. Sure, this guy was a total psychopath, but his misadventures had nothing to do with pro sports. The Patriots did their required due-diligence when they drafted him. He may have been near the bottom of the scale for social competence, but he was a spectacular athlete. He was barely within the norm "socially." One report was that he behaved socially like a 15-year-old. Unfortunately, in the end, that immature anti-social behavior trumped his athletic ability. The Patriots couldn't have known that. Who would? He couldn't shed the gang-mentality from his youth, and he thought he was invincible. That was his downfall.
