Skierd posted this link in belteshazzar's Sprockets thread, and I just spent about 2 hours reading the whole thing, so I wanted to share it.

It's a great solo adventure tale, and the kid is an excellent writer. Recommended!
Wan Lee and his cross country Ruckus trip:

Oh wow. First page and I'm hooked. 35 mph across country. I would end up howling at the moon, a raving lunatic, after a ride that long at that speed.
I just spent my afternoon reading this. A great read.
I'm 12 pages in. What a great adventure. And pretty damn good writing by the kid.
Wow that is amazing. I am loving reading it.
GAH! I just spent an hour reading that and I have an exam tomorrow! Im hooked though, great writing and adventure
Why oh why did I never do something like this at 18?
I just cannot tell if I have done everything completely wrong or right in my life after reading that.

Boy--a lot of cross-country activity as of late.
I can think of many better ways to make that trip, though.

Great read. Cross country road trip in a cage now seems overly tame
A great read! I finished reading in bed last night.
I have never owned a motorcycle and likely never will but there is an awful lot of good writing and reading to be had on ADV. It seems about every 6 months I pick up a story there and dive deep into it so please keep bringing the suggestions.
As for this kid, did I get this right, was the ride done on summer break between his Jr and Sr year?
At first I thought he did the trip after graduation but then he spoke in March of this year about getting scholarships and college acceptance?
At any time frame, I was surprised to see the whole thing was supported by the parents. Was amazed at his depth and ability to express himself. When I was that age, I was nowhere near his level of independence and understanding of the world.
His route took him about 1 mile from my house.
His portrayal of Cleveland is spot on.
Great story! I read the entire thing this morning. Thanks for the link!
I just started the C70 one, but this is my thus-far all-time favorite ADV ride report (at least, one within our borders):
Poor Man Uraling the USA
His style, his photography, and his oddball choice of bike all appeal to me.
Worst thing is the kid sold the bike. He'll spend the rest of his days trying to track it down. He did more living in a few months than most do all their lives.
I am only 18 pages in, but this kid has a future as a journalist, that's for sure.
