Literally, the most beautiful woman I've ever seen just started working at my office. She's exceedingly polite, always smiles, is a Harvard graduate, and as I just found out, single. She's the kind of girl that you see and you get mad at yourself because you know YOU will never be able to get somebody like her.

So how do I get somebody like her?

Be yourself, pure and simple. Good luck.

Start by asking? Something along the lines of, "Hey, want to grab a cup of coffee sometime?"

I would leave out the part where you're a SuperDork on GRM.

I met a woman like that once. Married her even. She is still the most physically stunning person I know. Then she got off her meds which I knew nothing about. Found out that what looked good to me wasn't in any way good me. Happily divorced now. I wish you far better luck than I my friend.

That being said, be yourself, be interested, remember the little things she likes and mentions in an offhand manner. Don't be overbearing in your attention to her. She will give you clues if she is interested. Take them. If you can make her laugh, you are halfway there.

I am not saying to not take a run at her but never forget what Jimmy Soul knew back in 1963...

mmm-hmm, that's a whole lot of Rufy!

seriously, don't be yourself, if yourself is full of self doubt.

anecdote: a guy i know (not me, really), when he was about 26, had a super-hot 20-year-old intern down the hall. at a thursday-night office happy hour, he overheard her complain about some dude from school she dated. my boy jumped straight in with "You should be berkeleying me, not some 20-year-old school boy." when she asked why, he said "Because someone your age berkeleys you so he has a story to tell his friends. When I berkeley you, it's so you have a story to tell your friends." she put it on him the next night, and several more nights until she went back to school.

so be that guy.

Be sure to introduce yourself and tell her your name. Think of the Mike meets Lauraine scene from Swingers.

See?

Or you could just do like AngryCorvair said and be the rated R guy, the guy your not sure if you like yet.

Go up and ask her if she'd like to come over to your house for a quick shag. If she says yes you are in luck!

C'mon get real, you 're asking HERE for relationship advice? Even if you were serious about asking here, you've given way too little information. Nude photos are required for serious answers.

Does your Company have a "no-dating" restriction?

If not, just get to know her first. Take it slow.

Trent: I don't want you to be the guy in the PG-13 movie everyone's *really* hoping makes it happen. I want you to be like the guy in the rated R movie, you know, the guy you're not sure whether or not you like yet. You're not sure where he's coming from. Okay? You're a bad man. You're a bad man, Mikey. You're a bad man, bad man.

Well, in my case, it happened by saying, "I shall not crap where I eat..." over and over again... then go to lunch with her... for months... all the while repeating that phrase...

Oh... did I mention she owned a '97 M3? Yep... she had me at "5 speed..."

But still kept saying "I shall not...." Then helped her with some house work...

That was 6+ years ago... although we don't work together anymore... and she does drive me nuts at times... and she sold the M3 for a MINI Cooper S... but we're still together.

Basically, I got her by trying like hell not to...

IF you feel that it is a good idea to be dating someone you work with;

Asking her to lunch or coffee is good advice. It will give you a chance to chat with her about office politics and how she is adjusting to the new job.

Since she already knows you are a SuperDork on GRM, chatting about cars would be a good move, too; it will show her that you aren't trying to impress her, and are really being yourself.

Good luck!

The jerk approach is a double-or-nothing bet. Small chance it will pay off big time, large chance it will ruin your chances forever...

Also intelligent women aren't the type who are attracted to jerks. I like intelligent women and in my experience, intelligent women are attracted to 1 of 2 types of men:

  1. The intelligent and sensitive types
  2. The Alpha Male (and lots of them! Ahem, but moving on...)

Try being friendly and just striking up a conversation - if she rips out your heart and puts it in the office shredder, she's a Type 2. If she doesn't, she's a Type 1 and you are in for the win!

She's probably lonely because every guy thinks they don't stand a chance so they don't put themselves out there and ask her out. I knew a lingerie model like that once - she was like great Turkish coffee, hot and sweet, and smart too, just couldn't get any guys to even talk to her without drooling on themselves. Too bad I was in a committed relationship at the time

Man up and ask her to coffee or an after work drink sometime and just get to know her some, and take it slow.

ruins your chances forever with her, maybe. that guy, my friend, from the earlier anecdote, he's had them come around eventually without changing the approach. and don't forget that there are others. like my dad used to say, "don't lament the no, because no gets you one step closer to the yes" He was a brilliant man.
