I just found out these exist:

Here's a video of I think the same model mounted in a Mazda:

So you get a touch screen GPS DVD headunit that fits your car, for only a few hundred bucks. Sure it is cheap Chinese crap but as long as I'm not expecting Blaupunkt quality it shouldn't matter. Does anyone have hands on experience with these things? The Eonon brand seems popular.
You can get a used Alpine or Kenwood for similar money and you will be much happier.
I have an Alpine IVA-W505 in my truck that I got for $150 off a local a few years ago. I am very happy with it.
They tend to have poor quality navigation software, and they often have short lifespans. The biggest complaint that I hear is the start up times. Find a used unit from a quality brand, and you're likely ahead. And yes, I sell them new, and hear complaints about the cheap stuff at least weekly.
i can't see getting something like this... the DVD is about pointless as it's illegal to watch while driving and as mentioned the GPS is often spotty... I'd go with a separate GPS unit... but it sure doesn't look as spiffy as the built in sat nav
