Hmmm. Guy from upstate New York goes to Yuma in August? Has to be really rough on you.
As the old saying goes, it's a dry heat in my oven too but I'm not sticking my head in there.
BTDT. Drink lots and lots of water and a little gatorade or similar. Your sweat will dry so fast that its hard to realize how much you actually are sweating.
I'm from Mississippi, so my sojourn one summer in New Mexico was very interesting. We hit 114 one day, but the humidity was 4%. Eye opening to us High Schoolers back then.
I feel you. I'm in Sierra Vista for work right now. Not quite as hot as Yuma but damn it's nasty out about mid day. Burned myself on the car at least twice now....
