I was on another forum where somebody had posted a "Free Bicycle Parts" van.
My ADD/motorhead/hyperdetail fixation immediately went apeE36 M3.
The van in question-

And a brief list of things wrong with it-
Reasons it's AI
1- No US domestic mfg. van exists with a grille of that size and pattern. It's too tall top to bottom and too narrow side to side.
2- A lack of badges is not unusual on an old van. A lack of holes where the badges used to be is highly suspect.
3- The drip rail on the roof does not go over the windshield. That particular design quirk did not show up until the '90s.
4- Headlights appear to be bigger than the DOT 7" standard used in the '70s.
5- There is a disturbing lack of lugnuts with which to hold the wheels in place.
6- The vents in the cowl panel are the wrong configuration and appear to be made of gray spray paint.
I promptly posted the above list when someone else asked how I knew it was AI-generated.
And then I got accused of being a nerd. Everyone's a critic...
The "spray painted" letters are also wildly too consistent in shape with sharp edges and yet are made to look like they are freehand.
Spotting AI images is something we all should practice. They are, and will be, very common. They also will certainly get better.

Right away I was like "wow, the super rare no-lug wheel option"!
In reply to pointofdeparture :
"These centerlocks each cost more than the rest of the van, but the pit stop times are worth it!"
The grille throws it off immediately, but I can see where a non car nerd wouldn't be able to tell it's not real.

The bot certainly did a great job of making a van-shaped object. I just find it pants-wettingly hilarious that it offends my sensibilities so much.
To me, it's like they didn't even try... and I recognize that I am an outlier.
There's a current TV commercial for a drug called Izervay that has a woman driving around in a 1965 or 1966 Mustang convertible. They've modified the looks of the car, I assume to avoid having to pay royalties. Besides removing any badging, they took off the indented body line on the sides, added square headlights and modified the taillights. For a better look at it, the commercial is on YouTube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OwRTqbur6Wo

In reply to stuart in mn :
That bothers me way more than it should. It's also missing the fuel filler / mustang logo thing from the rear valence
Meanwhile, this AI generated image of a modern version of a Porsche 944 looks fantastic:

In reply to mainlandboy :
Holy moly that thing is HAWT!
Agreed. That 944 concept is stunning. Here is someone else's version via IG:

I remember having cheap plastic toy cars as a kid that were molded to sort of but not really look like some actual car. The Mustang in the ad reminds me of them.
I asked AI to create a widebody 67 Camaro and this is what it gave me

I made this for an event and left all of the AI artifacts in because it was funny.

Looking through all these, it's apparent that AI has issues with lug nuts.
That "Mustang" is UGLY, though.
In reply to Recon1342 :
To be fair, most people have issues with lugnuts as well.
I came into the thread thinking it would be a gallery of AI generated vehicles. I've been futzing around with different generators and occasionally I'll ask for something along the lines (or actually the literal car) of my 2001 corolla. It doesn't know the 2001 model year in america, I get JDM stuff or stuff thats older or newer. The closest recent pic I got was this-

I've been getting AI cars on my feed for a while, but they're never of whole new cars–just different liveries or colors variations that make me go, "Oh my god, I want that." Some are real customs, but most are AI. Makes me kind of sad.
