Ok I am not a fan of Alabama nor Nick Saban but in this interview he seems to throw his team under the bus and then try to cover it up with "it's my responsibility"

Did you see what happened? Im not into either team, but I watched it anyway.
I saw the final play that is about it, but I have never seen a coach call out multiple single plays which singled out individual players like he did. I thought it was weird for a coach to do that.
Pride does that sometimes. Everyone on the Alabama team kinda sucked that day. FG kicker was something like 0 for 3 that day. But, yeah, Coach let pride talk instead of just taking the blame.
He got out-coached, which is something unfamiliar to him...
So it must be someone else's fault.

You would think that Alabama would be able to recruit a decent kicker... But I don't think they even try, in the belief that they're going to be so good, that they will never have to rely on one to win.
most schools don't use a scholarship for kickers (or at least that used to be the way)

True, but a lot of major programs seem to be able to have a decent kicker on their roster. Who was the last Alabama kicker that has made it to the NFL???
Auburn did what they had to.....they held fast and finally got a big play to go their way. I am just hoping this knocks Alabama from the top 4 so I don't have to see them in the BCS or rose bowl.
i have backed the tide for years, but they were simply beaten fair and square, i felt a strange sense of releif or re leaf what ever cant win um all.
He mostly pointed out all the plays that could have been the difference in the game. Hell, they make one of the four fg attempts and they are kneeling on the ball as time expires instead of trying to make a last second 57 yd fg with a redshirt freshman kicker to avoid overtime.
Well I guess he did avoid overtime, so that part worked.

That's because the Midwest doesn't really have soccer........
He had been a good kicker all year, not sure the last time I saw him miss. To me, Alabama didn't seem well coached or even played with any enthusiasm. It goes back to blocking and tackling, the didn't do either very well.
Auburn played a good game however.
Auburn should have leapfrogged Ohio State to #2 in my opinion. They have really shown up where it counts. oSU has barely shown up when I counts.
FWIW; Saben comes off as a tool but his assistants must be good.

Yea, auburn is so much stronger like the amazing wins over Florida a&m and Arkansas state. Or the close win over Texas a&m. At least they really ran it up against western Carolina.
I hate ohio but at least they have not lost a game.
hey let's attempt a 57 yard field goal to avoid overtime. Idiotic coaching decision. They paid the price for it too.

IMO it was really poor of Saban to leave the field w/o shaking hands with the Auburn coach. He didn't even try, just headed straight for the locker room.
Also, supposedly, a missed FG has supposedly only been return by the defense for a TD four times in NCAA history. The last two times were against Alabama, this season. LSU did it to them a few weeks ago. Ha!
That was one of the most entertaining football games I've ever seen. I usually don't watch college, as I find the BCS system to be a joke, but I'm glad I took the time to tune in.
It's a shame Saban couldn't have been more thankful for being part of it. His press conference smacked of sour grapes. Auburn beat them fair and square. I'd hoped he would have more class than that in defeat--- he hardly even gave credit to Auburn and it's coaching staff---- who clearly out-coached him.
Of course he was disappointed, but learning to lose with dignity is even more important than winning gracefully. I've lost a bit of respect for him.
